Entertaining and Educational
The author's keen insights into both science and the Star Wars universe are greatly enhanced by his flair for engaging prose. He answers questions that Star Wars fans have been asking for years and comes up with some questions and answers I never encountered before. It's easy to read for the laity and engaging for the initiated.

It just doesn't work
The nuts and bolts of the story don't fit and that's important to know. Now if he could just do Lord of the rings.

Some of the science was weak
I guess my expectations were higher because much of the science was basic and left me wanting much more. As a lover of science I wanted the depth a professor is capable of providing not a Wikipedia rehash.

Nice info on current vs. Star Wars science
Interesting number of topics covered and discussed related to the Star Wars universe. Some extrapolation from current to future technologies/capabilities make sense, but much is still unknown. Overall, pretty cool stuff.

Fun read and interesting
This is a fun read that also educated me on space, science and life. Showing science fiction, isn't always fiction

Don't compare this to the book "The Physics of Star Trek" by Lawrence Krauss
I've read "The Physics of Star Trek" by Lawrence Krauss several times, and it is fascinating. I bought this, hoping it would be a similar read. This is only a bad book when compared to the Star Trek one, and is actually not a bad book at all. But if you have read the Star Trek one, don't expect the same level of science and stellar writing as this reads more like something by a Star Wars fan with some knowledge of science. My bias has nothing to do with Star Trek over Star Wars, it's just that the book is not as well researched or written.

Lifting the veil of the possibilities of Star Wars in reality
It doesn't take away our fascination for sci-fi or the space frontier. Instead, it will make you curious, and hope that things we create in our minds, fiction, our imagination, ...can be real. Time is the only variable.

A fun book with lots of info.
This book is just packed with all sorts of facts and information pertaining to earth science and Star Wars science. Well and clearly written, this is the book for you if you enjoy what can be a dry subject written in a highly entertaining and informative fashion. Great fun.

Kid loved it
Bought this as a gift. I didn't get a chance to read through it first, but the preteen Star Wars fan I bought it for apparently really enjoyed the content. I looked up the author and it looks like as lot of his work is popularly great. No complaints here.

Good, but not great!
Mark Brake's thoughtful reflections on the future, motivated from science fact, are always informative, entertaining and engaging. However, I found the lack of illustrations (there are none!) to be a little disappointing given the highly visual aspect of the films themselves (and the price charged for the book). It's still an interesting read but does not reach its full potential and the benchmark set by his other publications (eg 'Future World').
