Easy to read and fun
Great book !!Love the story, very funny to read, beautiful ilustration, the Watson`s take care of Mercy like a kid, giving her butter toast, one day she decided to snuggle in bed with them, very bad idea for the bed and for the house.I recommended 100%

Great book for our young kids!
We’ve had this book for 3 days and have read it too many times to count! My 5, 4, and 2 year old love it and even our 9 month old can enjoy the pictures so it’s a definite winner to entertain a wide age range! My 4 year old cracks up at the humor in it and my 5 year old has expanded his vocabulary a bit (he loves words!) and the 2 year old loves hearing the different accents I give to the characters. We’ll probably invest in the rest of the series at some point but we’ll enjoy this one for awhile first. Personally I think an 8 year old would be a little bored with it but maybe it’s because we do a lot of reading so I feel like our kids will outgrow this at a younger age but time will tell.

Loved by First Graders
First Graders LOVE this series. I'm using the first book in the series in a small group of high readers as a novel study. Otherwise I read aloud all the books over the course of the year and we have a Mercy Watson party one day during the last month of school.

The best books EVER, forever! (Mercy Watson)
Our class just finished reading the entire Mercy Watson series. We love these books! Even though Mercy is mischievous, Mr. and Mrs. Watson love her and care for her like a kid. They sing her to sleep and feed her hot buttered toast - her favorite! The characters are very funny. New characters are introduced in each book. The colorful and detailed illustrations help us understand the story. These books are really funny and make us laugh. We would definitely recommend the Mercy Watson books to our friends and family.

What's not to love?
OK. Mercy, the pig is afraid to sleep in her own bed in her own room. Guess no one ever told her she SHOULD be sleeping alone outside. However, I think she might have preferred that unless there was no moon. You see, Mercy wasn't afraid of being alone. She was afraid of the dark. Her Momma and Poppa should have bought a nightlife and avoided what happened in the middle of the night. You'll have to read the story to discover why the fire department was called and what they did to actually be of help. Of course THEY weren't the ones that were deemed heroes. No, that would have been Mercy, and she was the reason there was trouble in the neighborhood.Cute story. Cute pig. Nutty couple. Wild chase. Great illustrations. Yep, I'd say kids will love it!

Delightful story
This is a delightful, funny book. I got it for my niece and we loved it so much that I want to get the whole series for my first grader!

My three year old loved it
I bought this book for my three year old- we read her stories every night. I was surprised by how much she liked it. She always asks us to keep going. It is a very early chapter book but simple story, can be ready through quickly, and it has pictures, which keep her interested. We liked it so much we bought another copy for my 5 year old niece who is reading on her own, and her mom told me that she was trying to read it by herself and enjoyed it as well.

It’s a must read chapter book
This is an amazing book to start chapter books for pre-schoolers. It is a must have. One large picture per page so it’s not a sudden move from picture books and easy to follow story line.

Toddler always asks me to read her one more chapter.
Absolutely great introduction to chapter read alouds for young children. I've been reading this series to my toddler every night and I often have to cut her off after 2 chapters while she yells "Just one more chapter!". There are plenty of pictures, so a great transition from picture books and the story lines are easy enough for the young ones to recall yesterday's chapter the next day. Fun, quirky stories that are pretty grounded in reality.
