This is a very helpful and practical book for anyone looking to install garden, animal or house based water harvesting systems. Although I have fundamental experience of a homemade system in the UK, this book focuses on US systems so there are some differences. However the thorough descriptions, including helpful images, of how to build different systems, are very well written. There are explanations on working out quantities of water needed, storage solutions, equations to plan from and hints and tips for different situations. There is a great set of separate glossaries and online resources to refer to as well. Overall a very helpful resource.

Really interested in this topic. Great information and practical ideas and solutions that we’ll be putting into use. Written in America but we’re in Scotland and completely relevant.

Although I am from the UK, I can use this book here as well. Very informative and well organised. It tries to cover every angle and give confidence for us beginners.

We installed rainwater harvesting 10+ years ago. It proved to be grossly over-complicated, expensive and unreliable. If only we had had this book back then we would have got a far better system. From experience - keep it simple, beware of expensively unnecessary add-ons and understand what is, and is not, really needed. Reading this book would have been the perfect first step.

This book is filled with useful tidbits but also provides intelligent analysis with clear, concise plans! What else could you need? Really, even the illustrations keep the plans to the point. Very pleased with the book.

This is brilliant for all you need to know about harvesting rainwater. It has been so good to read and gain new knowledge as a beginner at this has been great. Certainly recommend a read.
