Fancy Water that Actually Tastes Good
Wet Hydration – Watermelon Lemon Lime I have a confession *deep breath*. I don’t like La Croix. Or Waterloo (although I admire the flavor selection). Or Bubly (unless you half-and-half it with regular water and mix in an envelope of powdered drink mix). Or, Hint. It tastes like the fruit shown on the label wore Chelsea boots while jumping over a puddle. It’s the mineral, metallic taste of sparkling water that puts me off. A family member’s PCP suggested electrolyte-enhanced water. So, I naturally turned to Amazon. Wet is zero calorie, zero sugar with Aloe Vera and electrolytes. I’d never heard of this brand but the price wasn’t bad for this product ($35.00 for a pack of 12). The listing also featured a 20% coupon. He chose the Watermelon Lemon Lime Flavor over Peach Pineapple and Orange Mango Ginger Tumeric. It’s one of those things that is much better just out of the refrigerator. Lay the cans flat; they are tall and skinny and tend to fall over when the door is opened. I poured some over ice and took a sip. It was not at all what I was expecting. No metallic notes, just a really mild naturally sweet taste, with just the slightest pink tint. The watermelon and lime really shine in this flavor. It tastes like a light version of watermelon and Sprite. No artificial ingredients, no sugar – just Vitamin D, antioxidants, aloe vera juice and electrolytes. Back in the 70s, my dad raised Aloe Vera plants – one of the most versatile plants there is. The gel is the hippie version of Windex in some families – it’s used for everything. Got a burn? Squeeze some aloe on it. Have a blister? Pop it and wrap it in aloe immediately. Bee sting assuming you’re not allergic (that got a paste made of meat tenderizer – followed by the aloe gel). For sore throats, he made an aloe vera tea. And the weird thing is – it worked. So while I can’t taste the aloe vera in Wet, I feel very virtuous consuming it, knowing Dad is looking down and saying, “Why do you need the other things? Just drink the aloe!” While the benefits may be, in part, placebo, given the general insanity of the lives that we live, I’m willing to consume a can or two, for the sake of my health. Especially if it tastes really good.

Light, Refreshing, and Not Too Sweet
The pink flavor was a pleasant surprise. It has a light, refreshing taste that isn’t overly sweet, which makes it easy to drink throughout the day. The electrolytes give it a nice hydration boost without the heavy or syrupy feel you get from traditional sports drinks. I’ve been keeping a can with me at work, and it’s been great for staying hydrated without feeling bloated. It chills quickly, stays crisp, and has a clean finish. If you like a subtle fruity flavor that doesn’t overpower, this one hits the mark.

Wet hydration drink
Great and easy way to get protein. Not great tasting alone but when added to my protein shake is perfect.

Best cleanest hydrating drink out there!!
I recently tried the variety pack from Wet Hydration, and I’m genuinely impressed! Every flavor is super refreshing and well-balanced—not overly sweet or artificial like some other electrolyte drinks I’ve tried. They’re easy on the stomach and hydrate quickly, making them perfect after a workout, on a hot day, or even just when I need a little boost. One of the drinks in the variety pack has a small amount of caffeine, which I found to be the perfect pick-me-up in the afternoon. It gave me just enough energy without the jitters or crash I usually get from coffee. It’s now my go-to midday boost and bonus.. hydrating!! Overall, I love that Wet Hydration combines hydration with clean, simple ingredients. I’ll definitely be ordering again—this is now a staple in my home and routine!!

Not good flavors - none good enough to have a second can
4 flavors in the variety pack: Blackberry Melon Orange Mango Peach Pineapple Watermelon Lime Short version: I would not buy again. None of the flavors taste anything like what the label says they should be, only 2 of the 4 flavors were ok enough to finish the can, and none were good enough to have again. Breakdown by flavor. Blackberry Melon: This one smelled and tasted like 1980s Flintstone chewable vitamins. There was no blackberry flavor at all and just a slight hint of honeydew(?) melon flavor. The chewable vitamin taste was so overpowering that I couldn't drink even ½ the can. Orange Mango: This one wasn't too bad. It didn't have the vitamin taste, which was a relief. It tasted nothing at all like orange or mango, but rather tasted like the original lemon/lime Gatorade. The taste was at least good enough to finish the can, but not good enough to have again. Peach Pineapple: Not bad, but again tasted nothing like what the label said it should. No hint of peach or pineapple, but instead tasted like raspberry. Tasted good enough to finish the can, but not good enough to have another. Watermelon Lime: Not very good. Tasted like old cantaloupe (when it's ready to be thrown out). No hint whatsoever of watermelon or lime. Not good enough to finish the can. Thankfully, only one flavor tasted like chewable vitamins, but none were what I'd call good. Their flavor tasters must have had horrible colds when they were making up their flavor mixtures, because not a single one resembled what the name on the can said it should be. Unfortunately, the only way to buy this was a box of 12 cans (3 cans of each flavor). I tasted one of each flavor and would not drink any one of them again. The two other people in my household also tasted 1 each of the flavors and they too did not like any of them enough to want to have them again. Bottom line, I would not recommend it.

Give me more protein for this price
I decided to try this protein water because I wanted something more thirst-quenching than a typical thick protein shake. I’ll give credit where it’s due — it absolutely delivers on that. It’s light, refreshing, and honestly tastes a lot like zero sugar Vitamin Water. If you’re just looking for a flavored water with a little protein boost, the taste is great. Here’s where my mistake comes in. I was specifically searching for a 30g protein water, and this popped up. For the price of the 12-pack, I thought it seemed reasonable… assuming it had a decent amount of protein. Even 20g per bottle, I could’ve accepted. But 10g? That’s less than half of what I was aiming for. To hit the protein amount I actually wanted, I’d need to drink three of these. At 45 calories each, that’s 135 calories — and now the cost of three bottles makes it no longer a good deal at all. At that point, I could literally buy chocolate milk for less money and get more protein. On top of that, a few of the cans arrived with the bottoms bulging out (I believe that’s called a “bulging” or “swollen” can). That definitely made me question the quality control and didn’t give me a lot of confidence opening them. Now that I’ve learned I do like protein water as a concept, I’ll probably keep buying it — just not from this company at this price point. For 10g of protein, this is overpriced. I’d maybe grab it again if I saw it at the dollar store for what I think 10g is actually worth
