Mitutoyo 2358S-10 Dial Indicator, #4-48 UNF Thread, 0.375" Stem Dia., Lug Back, White Dial, 0-10 Reading, 2.244" Dial Dia., 0-0.5" Range, 0.0001" Graduation, +/-0.0008" Accuracy

The dail indicator looks different from the one pictured. Everything looks just about the same but there are two little dials, one that rotates around in 10 thousands measurement as the big needle rotate in one full revolution and the other rotates in 100 thousands measurement and it limits out at 500 thousands, which is half inch. These two features are well worth the price. It does not come with a limit hand, which is an arrow look alike thing that can be rotated around the screen bezel to remind you of your limits nor does it come with a lug attachment for the back. It also comes with no case. You might be able to order these parts separately. Seems like there is a 1/4" Starrett 657Y lug attachment that will fit and a Starrett PT00764 3/8 stem adapter that slides on to the Starrett lug attachment if your magnetic base holder has a 3/8 hole like all Noga base holder has. Both comes up to be about $30 extra.

Purchased this indicator for use in industrial environment. I work for a contract company doing machine tool repair, accuracy is a must. Most indicators with this degree of of read only have .050" to .060" of total travel. With a throw of .500" this lends itself to many more and varied situations. I have no complaints and am well satisfied with my purchase.

There isn't much to say, it's Mitutoyo! Always top notch. Smooth operation and accurate! I would recommend to everybody!

worked like they should, made my job much easier. only complaint is that the rotating dial is a bit stiff but hopefully it will loosen with use.

In this case I got what I paid for. Ran the gauge blocks on the comparator stand and was well pleased. I do suggest there are accessories and I'm using one here as shown. I will probably buy another to use for an X-Y Table project.
