Works great once set up
As many reviewers have said, setup started with great difficulty. After 1/2 hour and numerous attempts, I could just not get the camera to connect to my Wifi... turned off non-2.4GHz networks, powered on/off numerous times.. Just couldn't get it to connect. Finally, after reading more reviews, I came across one that mentioned success plugging directly into the router first. Voila! I connected the camera directly to the router with the supplied cord, used the app to search for devices on the network, connected to the camera, then manually entered the wifi info for the camera into the app.Camera has a great picture and the app is pretty easy to use to just view (using it as a baby cam). Can't attest to range, as camera is very close to router.

Good Camera for the Money
Setup was a cinch; I was even able to get it working on iSpy on the first try, which has never happened before. It has a good, clear picture. The Pan-Tilt controls are a little jumpy, but I was able to slow it down in the settings to make it more manageable. One thing I really like is the 1-4X digital zoom available in the browser view- it's not great past 2X but at this price I'm not going to complain. So far it's been a great camera; I've tried and sent back cameras that were 3X the price- this one is definitely a keeper. The only problem I've had so far is getting it to work in Opera or Chrome, I guess because of the ActiveX component, but it works fine in IE and I was surprised to find it works in Mozilla Pale Moon.2/02/18 Edit: This morning I was unable to access using the browser, although the wireless connection was working since I could view it on the phone app. I did an IP search using iSpy and discovered the camera had a new IP address. I was able to connect to the new address using the browser, but am unable to reset the camera's IP to the original value in the Network Settings. Knocked off 1 star and will contact the seller. Also In my original review I neglected to mention the audio sounds like swirling water, and unfortunately there's no provision for an external microphone.02/05/18 Update: Customer Service responded promptly and gave me instructions to disable the "Set IP Automatically" option, using the SearchPro tool available on their download page(listed on the first page of their Quick Installation Guide.) I had to select the "Not P2p" option before searching for the camera, then selecting the IP Setting tab- I was then able to change the IP back to the original value, and uncheck the "Set IP Automatically" box. I restored the 5-star rating because despite the inferior microphone the speakers have decent sound and with the excellent picture quality it's still a good buy for the money.

If your having problems it's your firewall on yoir router
Note: If your having problems viewing your camera's outside the local network it's probably because you haven't open and forwarded the ports. You have to add a virtual server and port forward for each cams rtsp port and the http port. So you would have a port forward entry on your router foe both thw rtsp and http port.Example:CAMERA #1Cameras Ip = 191.123.0.1Http port = 80Rtsp port = 554You wpuld add a virtual server port foward using 191.123.0.1 and enter the port range (554) four times and then save. Then you would add another virtual server port forward for the http port same us above just enter the port range (80) four times and use thw cameras ip address. Be sure to select both under the format do not just leave it at tcp or udp.If you have the rtsp and http port of your camera forwarded using the camera's local ip address then you should be able to view your cams while on your cellure network away from home. The quality is ok not super hd but for most folks this cam will be more than enough. I have them mounted in a window and ir lights outside with the ir turned off on the cams so it doesn't reflect off the glass. I have some vstarcam's and faleemi. Honestly the Vstarcam is the best picture quality of them all. It's just more expensive and should someone break in at least if they break them im not out 37.00 for each one.

... to try to find out which one of my stupid cats is peeing in the closet
I bought this as an inexpensive method to try to find out which one of my stupid cats is peeing in the closet. If you're looking for a network camera to play with, this is OK. Big tip: do not plug the camera in until you're ready to set it up on your network. The app is adequate, nothing more. Altering the position of the camera is cumbersome. Motion sensing, even on the low setting, triggers a lot of false positives generating excessive amounts of The low light video is better than I expected. I could not get the mail feature to work and I do not have a FTP server to test with. Buy a large SD/TF card and save the headache. Unfortunately, there's no remote method to delete files, but it appears you can remote format which would remove all files. 480p files are approximately 10MB for two minutes of video in IR mode. I expect full color to be larger files. But you can connect to it via the app outside your network, which I found to be surprising. The one really nice feature is that it runs on 5V USB so there's plenty of battery pack options, the down side is that the camera doesn't use a standard USB connection, so don't lose or damage the cord! For some strange reason, this uses a metric thread (8mmx1.50?) in spite of the fact that camera equipment has been standard 1/4-20 for ages. So it' won't work with any camera tri-pod.I don't know if I would want to use this for anything beyond a toy.

More than what i expected
Received it yesterday and got it setup today. I was hesitant to buy this bcus it's cheap but it met more than my low expectations. What blew me away is the strong IR night vision and great picture clarity. The camera can tilt nearly top dead center and pan almost 360 degrees maybe around 320 degrees. With that i can see behind the camera and any other directions covering a near perfect concave coverage. Highly recommend it.ConsThe recommended app from play store uses questionable app permissions like gps location and sticky broadcasts. I use a different viewer.
