Works Great in a lamp with a tinted or cloth lamp shade. Still a lightbulb, so you don't want to actually stare into it or see it glowing in your face, it's still very bold and bright even for it's low power use. It makes a great overall room light in a lamp, brighter than a nightlight but not book reading bright white. I think for overhead lighting fixtures, you may want a brighter bulb if you need room filling light. These little bulbs save money vs 60 Watt bulbs. If you want relaxing light, you should order yellow bulbs for yellow light. These here are soft White light, not for relaxing.

I put these in our ceiling fan in the bedroom so these are not very bright and a relaxing color that helps me get ready to go to sleep. So far they're lasting a good long time and the light level is perfect.

I have vintage lamps that look better with low-light warmth. These bulbs are perfect, and something like them seemed hard to find.. so I’m happy I found them. I ordered them twice, I love them so much. They arrived perfectly, too. Nothing broken. Hurrah.(

These are much brighter than expected. The warm glow is nice but it’s too bright to use as evening wind down lighting. I put one in my bedside table lamp and it’s too bright to have on and be able to wind down. I also couldn’t have it on the table next to my chair in the living room - again, too bright for the PM wind down from bright lights and screens. The one in the lamp across the room in the far corner was nice though. So it just depends on how you’ll use them. If you scatter them around the corners of the room in a lamp with a shade - probably very nice. I just don’t have lamps all around the edges of the room so it didn’t work for me the way I wanted. They’re good quality though. Well packaged. No breakage. I would buy them again if they worked for my purpose.

Beautiful hue. I also bought the sconces on Amazon. The glass is frosted so it makes these bulbs shine beautifully.

I have an old-fashioned oil lamp that requires this size build with defused lighting. These little bulbs are perfect. This is not a bright light.

A couple others have said they think these are painted, and they're close: thanks to a bulb breaking the outer envelope in shipping I can see it's a regular light with an amber glass filter actually fitted around the inner glass (yes glass on glass so I'm surprised this hasn't been reported more). Hopefully you can see this in photos but it's hard to photograph. I also took out another bulb to show the packaging which is pretty good! The light was a little harder than the others to screw into a socket so seems like that particular one got a decent bump. Otherwise these is flicker free like most LED bulbs (but not the string lights I was replacing with these). Also, as some have said, these don't stop all blue (like a lot of "blue block" glasses): the Hershey Cookies & Cream wrappers are colored white with blue stripes that, while dull, you can definitely see the blue in. I'll know in a few days if these knock out enough blue to sleep After installing all 4 I'm going to keep them: as you can see the extra white / blue light from the broken one in the rear center of the ceiling fan photo isn't much. I've also noticed some white light leakage around the socket glass edges of all 4 lights. Finally, it's a LOT of light with all 4 in: I was hoping for 40-60W equivalent but this is closer to 80+ so I may actually have to remove 1 or 2 to dim it sufficiently (this is in the bedroom).

I LOVE the way these bulbs give a Beautiful amber glow to my living room.. They are perfect.. 👌

Two of them (our of four) didn't work on arrival. Returned without testing the other two.
