Great Read!
This is a great read on the Ottoman Empire and its rich history. In the West, we tend to overlook the contributions of the Ottoman Turks and this book gives great examples of Ottoman culture that continues today.

Book of the Year
Book of the Year for me. Well written, interesting and highly recommended. This book takes you behind the scenes of the Empire, and is superb background reading if you interesting in Ottoman history. This book doesn't get you bogged down with names and places, but rather paints a picture of the significant and often forgotten contribution the Ottomans made to the arts, medicine, education and administration amongst other areas. A very good and informative read.
