A truly great kit.
What a beautifully detailed kit! I received this for Christmas and began it this past weekend. As with most figure models (as apposed to say a detailed ship or aircraft kit) there are relatively few parts, but what wonderfully detailed parts there are! The real challenge is in the painting. The flow of the Death Dealers leg chain mail flows right up against his mount. The man's (?) cape flows down behind him and also down beside the saddle, with no gaps. Truly looks awesome.I began with the horse, first cementing and then puttying the seams. After a light sanding along the putty line I gave the entire assembly a primer coat using Alclad Micro primer. After that had cured I decided on a black horse rather than the suggested brown/black. After I airbrushed the flat black, and after it cured, I did some chalk brown here and there along the horse's main and tail to bring out some detail. Then I gave the entire horse a dose of semi-gloss lacquer. I decided to model and paint the entire horse assembly before the death dealer, using some old humbrol gold paint for the base coat of the saddle and then a black wash for the detailing. Every part went together very well.Next I detailed the base: I started with a base coat of Tamiya "hull red" and then added some light black airbrushing here and there. Than I added "aggressor grey" for some of the rocks and airbrushed the skulls and bones with "radome tan". I used Tamiya "flat red" for the blood trails. Finally I gave it a coat of flat lacquer.I assembled the Death Dealer the same as the horse: First cementing, then putty for any seams, sanding and an overcoat of Alclad primer. At first I painted the armor with "Alclad Aluminum" but decided later I preferred "tester's dark anodonic grey" airbrushed on as a base coat. I polished it out with q-tips and then gave a black wash to bring out the detail. I did the same for the helmet, and painted the helmets horns with "radome tan", dry chalking with a light touch of black for weathering. You have to test fit the legs and make sure he goes onto the saddle properly before the cement sets, but again, with this Moebius kit the fit was superb.I gave the arm & hand a coating of testor's "wood" as I like the slightly darker hue to the skin as apposed to the pinker "flesh". I used Tamiya "flat red" for those burning eyes!! Finally I primed, putty'd, sanded and airbrushed the cape with Tamiya "flat black" and over coated it with Testor's "flat lacquer." The contrast between the flat black cape draped over the semi-gloss black horse looks great (imho). I will upload pictures once the kit is finalized...still have the shield & sword to do.I have imagined a nice little back-story for this guy...as I was working the head/helmet assembly:Wife: "Oh! You are wearing the new helmet with horns I just gave you for Christmas, how nice!"Death Dealer: "Yea, what do you think?! I think it'll look great with the cape the kids gave me!"Wife: You look wonderful, now go have fun pillaging and slaughtering; we'll have supper on for you at 7:00."Have fun with this kit! It's a wonderfully detailed and well designed model.

This model accurately depicts the original Frazetta painting
The manual is easy to read, the parts fit well with little adjustment and the model pretty accurately depicts the original Frazetta painting. It makes for a nice man cave display.

Great iconic fantasy Frazette model and easy to build
Have built 4 different size versions (30mm; 54mm; 75mm and this one) of this iconic Frank Frazetta figure. This is by far the easiest build, and the detail is great. The instructions are very well done, easy to follow and the model goes together very simply with plastic glue. The toughest part are the seems, but anyone who has put together a plastic model should have no trouble. Each piece fits tightly together and you could put the entire model together in a few hours. The box is beautiful art in itself, with 2 versions of the model. I am an award winning figure painter, and love this model so much I have bought 3 more to make as christmas presents for my 3 son's, all of whom had the original picture on their bedroom wall growing up. I am painting each slightly different. Also some great reviews on Youtube to help you along

If the box is important too, think twice.
I don’t know who did what but the model was fine, not broken luckily but the box was tore up in shipping. If you’re a collector you know this is a problem.

Death Dealer in a Box
Long Awaited kit of Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer. Formerly only available as somewhat pricey statues, this styrene plastic kit is very affordable and provides collectors the advantage of adding as much imagination into the paint job as they can muster. On-line reviews of the kit on Youtube provide much needed guidance about the kit's shortcomings ( such as the gap along the lower edge of the cape at the neck/left shoulder), and suggestions on how to rectify and assemble the model. It's definitely a must for any fan of Frazetta's art and can be built by anyone with moderate skill with models. I saw one review that even demonstrated how to light up the eyes of the figure and the horse. Very cool! The kit comes in a large box adorned with box art of the Death Dealer painting. I highly recommend this item!

GREAT KIT, FAST SERVICE
Can't really address the kit as I have not built it yet. Just checking out the parts, this kit looks great! The molding is crisp, the detail is concise with no flash. The instruction booklet so far seems to be easy to follow. Study the instructions beforehand as some painting will have to be done prior to assembly. I'm going to you-tube to study some of the kit builds there for any tips before I start.
