Absolutely works!
This is effective for healing pain and muscle issues. I figure it actually saves us from taking damaging pain meds, saves us from many doctor visits and possibly even surgery. My husband's doctor was saying oh bone-on-bone you need hip replacement. This infrared pad alleviates a lot of the pain so he can still be active. My niece has lung cancer and it has helped with after surgery coughing. My son-in-law has an old back injury that flares up so he uses it for that. This infrared is far more effective than a heat pad. Cure-all? Probably not. But definitely a home remedy to use often. The customer service is great and you will get immediate help with any questions or concerns. Never any problems with the product, quality and works just as advertised. I am a customer and do not get any rewards for this recommendation.

Cord shorts out
This is the second type of red light product I have purchased. The first shorted, so I purchased a second. They both failed in the same way. They are both constructed probably by the same company as they are similar in design as far as the power source and wiring. Where the cord goes into the body of the light pad, the wire shorts. I have been very careful with this, yet it still failed.

This thing is great!
I bought this about 2 months ago and use it every day now. I use to have to sit on my heating pad every day for my back. Thanks to this, I no longer need it. I've also been using it on my hands for pain in my joints and it's really helped with that as well. The pain in my back and hands has not completely stopped, but it's definitely less than it was. I'm actually able to knit again, where before it got so painful after just a few minutes, I pretty much gave up on it. How I use it...when I sit down in the evening to watch some TV, I sit with it wrapped around my hands and set the timer for 25 minutes. I use it on the pulse light mode. I recommend using a blanket to cover up so you it doesn't mess with your eyes. Then, when I go to bed, I lay on it for my back for 25 minutes. I pull up my shirt so it's directly on my skin. I also use the pulse mode for this.

Personally don’t ever use
I love the idea about this product. However after purchasing I just found it kind of a hassle to put together and use. It’s very stiff making it harder to use in certain areas of your body. I prefer the comfort of my heating pad over this. Wouldn’t repurchase or recommend.

Red Light/ Heat Helps with discomfort
It is large enough to cover my back and can be fastened in place by velcro straps. It can wrap around knees/legs also. The heat is adjustable. And the auto shut off is a nice feature. Comes with sunglasses but I prefer to watch TV while using it, so I just make sure to not look at the lights.

Incorrect power claims
The pad is easy to use and speeds up healing process, but is not powerful enough to decrease pain. The company overstates the power output by several times. The manual states that it is a 50W device, and it is a blatant lie because even the supplied power supply is rated 12V 3A (giving max of 36W). The actual power consumption is 30W without the timer/controller and only 26W with the timer. The manual states that the irradiance is over 100mM/cm2. This is not true at all. I've checked the light output and the whole device produces 5W of light, so when considering the surface area it provides about 4mW of light per square cm (and not >100mW!) at its maximum setting. Now the health effects. To get a noticeable healing effect you need about 1 Joule (1J) per cm2, but best aroung 5J/cm2. With this device you get 1J/cm2 per 4 to 5 min, so recommended by the manufacturer 30 min exposure should produce healing results on the skin surface. It is a different story with the nerve pain as the nerves are quite a bit under the skin. About 7mm thick tissue absorbs 90% infrared light, and even more red light, so the nerves cannot get enough energy from the device within 30 min to be meaningfully affected. The sad part of this light therapy business is that not only this company but most of them overstate the light power of their devices and most of the buyers have no idea how the light works and take the power and claims about the devices as described by manufacturers, which in this case is almost always wrong. I compared several light pads so I must say that this one is one of the best that you can find on Amazon. For the ones that really give therapeutic effects, including pain relief, you need to look at oner $1000 price tag for a pad about 150x100 mm size.
