Cabin Air Filter Retrofit Kit Replacement for 07-14 GM Chevy Silverado Sierra Tahoe Yukon Avalanche Suburban Cadillac Escalade

Just installed this in my 2005 Suburban. Fit fine. Not sure why it is listed for just 2007++. Cutting the plastic out is a challenge. Utility knife was too dangerous, so used Dremel with several bits. Used utility knife and a round Dremel sanding roll to get it right. Filter did not come with any instructions as to how to install. The pull tabs go on the bottom . The filter has cuts along with side. This is aimed toward the blower motor. These allows the filter to be bent so it does not hit the floor. Pure brilliance. Seems to be good quality and the door was very rugged and comes with foam that really seals the opening and a screw to lock it in place. Great value for the money.

This was not expected when I went to change my filter. GM decided not to install cabin air filters from 2007-2014. Uh, come again? There are YouTube videos on how to install this retrofit. You basically need a sharp utility knife, small hacksaw, or a oscillating multi tool. It took me about an hour to do it all. I also took a moist toothbrush to the AC coil to get the years of dirt and grime off of it where a filter should have been keeping it clean. Just the typical tale of saving $0.80 per vehicle. This product worked great. Not sure how good the filter is, but again it's better than NO filter that was there. The cover fir perfectly and came with screws to attach it to the mounting stud that was there, proving that GM was going to do it, but cheaped out. This isn't a negative review for this kit, it's one for corporate oversight or greed. Sorry. Good kit. Would buy again.

Fit perfect, you’ll have to cut out the factory bottom if you never replaced your filter in a 07 Tahoe but the filter and bracket go right in

The kit itself is perfect. The work you have to put in to cut the hole is a little tedious and a pain. Go SLOW and take your time and you will be fine but it is frustrating. Worth the effort overall though!

Unfortunately I found out my year Chevy Silverado does not come standard with a cabin filter. After cutting out the spot where one should be I could see the ac coil was packed with debris so i had to use a can of air and then a spray bottle to clean it off. This kit installed easily (about 5 minutes) after I cut the slot out. I would recommend this to everyone with a Chevy truck or suv between years of 2007-2013 since apparently Chevy/GM decided it should put a spot for them but not make them standard. Clogged coil could damage your ac unit and cause you more in repairs than what this kit is.

As others have said the install is doable but very annoying and a tight area cutting the old plastic. I installed this in my 2004 (this will fit 03-06 models) but now my air flow is very poor. Setting 3 I don’t even feel the air, I’d say it cut the air flow by half. Even blowing air through the filter with my mouth I can barely feel anything on the other side. Will be looking for a replacement ASAP

This is a nice addition to my 08 2500HD since it didn’t come with a cabin filter. The filter and filter door are surprisingly of really good quality. The airflow after install is quite good. Install: Remove plastic cover to expose filter/fan area on passenger side. (3 screws). Use a utility knife to cut in groove to remove plastic cover where filter will go. Make repeated passes with a sharp new blade until it cuts through. (Take your time and make sure you don’t cut out of groove. Could be a big problem). Change blades when dull. My vehicle has a clear and evident spot where filter is to go. It even has area to accept screw. Once opening is removed, slide filter up in slot. You will have to curve filter slightly to feed it in. (Perfect fit in my vehicle). Hope this helps some out there. (08-14 are usually about the same)

I had my 2011 truck since 2014 and been meaning to get around to installing a cabin filter. I found this item and the price was right and so was the fit. The only issue i have is that GM cheaped out and never installed from factory. My dash and interior interior stays cleaner thanks to this filter. Will buy again.
