Must Have for Every Day Carry
I am big into EDC (every day carry). This is a MUST for your practical carry. The size is really good. heavy duty. Pen works well. One ink refill included. LED light is good, it's a pen light so don't expect a blazing torch, it is just right for those low light moments. The business end of the pen is wicked. I was not sure that a "tactical" pen was a necessary item to have... I was wrong. Having this at my disposal is invaluable. Get the thing, highly recommended. Good price point for the product. If you want top of the line go Gerber. But this one is just fine for the job.****BTW, this will NOT make it through TSA security at airports or court houses. DL

Well built, pen writes well. On a side ...
Well built, pen writes well. On a side note, dont tap the glass break end on your cell phone to see if it will work as a stylus. Spoiler alert - it wont and it will crack it even with a gentle tap. Lickily mine had a tempered glass screen protector that cracked instead of the actual screen. At least I am confident that if I legitimately need to break glass - this thing will do it!

Solid and tactical
I got this mostly for the flashlight/pen combo. The screwdriver/cap lifter combo doesn't seem very robust but it holds up well for scraping tasks. The serrated edge is completely dull and totally useless though. The flashlight is adequately bright for tight quarters tasks but I don't really care for the on/off button location. It sits proud along the side of the barrel and is easy to accidentally activate. Would have preferred a twist style on/off mechanism instead. Also, light leak is clearly visible from the button, which makes me question how it would hold up to a dunk in water. The pen side works as intended, nothing special. You can replace the ink with any disposable replacement. I haven't had the pleasure of using the glass breaker but suspect it would be effective. The removable segments that expose the pen and combo tool are all threaded on, which is nice for the tool side but annoying for the pen side. Every time I need to sign something, I need to unscrew to expose the pen.In terms of self defense, I can see this really hurting someone bad with a hard strike to the ribs, groin, or any other soft tissue area with the glass breaker point. The body is quite large and allows for decent grip to execute a counter attack, if one were in such a situation.Overall, it's made reasonably well and works adequately for what it sets out to achieve. Above all, it shines best as an emergency self defense tool, which I never thought I would actually admit to. Gripping it solidly in your hand with your thumb over the flashlight would do serious damage to the ribs, groin, or any soft tissue area of the human body. In areas with strict knife carry laws, I'd keep this in my pocket when visiting sketchy spots. I certainly wouldn't want to take a direct blow from it.

seems like an extremely well made tactical pen
UPDATE #2: I am now reducing my review of this pen from 5 to 4 stars. Reason: my first battery stack has already burned out. I have yet to actually intentionally use it. Instead, as noted below, it always seems to get accidentally turned on due to the stupid too easy to brush button. Also, the amazon link for this product (https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Military-Police-Defense-Survival/dp/B06X3QP4VY) has this specification: Description Pile LR936 Button Cell BatteryThat description should be more precise. The LED actually takes 3 LR936 Button Cell Batteries in series. That specification page also claims Average Battery Life 1440 hoursNo way do those LR936 Button Cell Batteries last for that many hours. Is that spec actually for how long the LED lasts?UPDATE #1: after several weeks of use, I still love this product. Is probably the best tactical pen on the market right now. That said, the concern that I originally voiced about the flashlight being way to easy to accidentally turn on has turned out to be a problem in practice. I find that this happens to me more than once, maybe 2 or 3 times, a week.2cl: there has to be a better design than that simple push button.~~~~~~~~~~ original remarks belowThis item just arrived today. Now that I have it in hand, it seems like an extremely well made tactical pen.First, it appears to be solidly made, machined out of high grade aluminum.Second, it has all the features that I want: the cap screws on when covering the pen (normal mode), it has a glass breaker end with a tungsten steel point, it has a great LED flashlight, and it also has a simple multi tool inside. The feature set is top notch.Third, they had the kindness and foresight to stock the box with 1 pen refill and 2 extra batteries. Classy.I am struggling to find any defects. Minor possible issues are all I can think of.One is that the flashlight is activated by a button that might easily get pushed. Not sure yet if that will happen during my every day carry of this pen, will update my review if so. Would a better design be turning on the flashlight by a more robust mechanism, perhaps turning a screw or something?Speaking of the flashlight, the LED is recessed into the top thumb cap, but it is still exposed. Not sure how you could cover and protect it when in use; will see how it endures over time.Another issue is that when you are writing with the pen, the cap does not screw onto the other end (to cover the glass breaker). Instead, all that you can do is press it on and hope that the pressure fit holds. I wish that it had a more secure hold, even if just an O-ring seal, like the Hoffman Richter pen does. The metal clip which holds the pen onto your pocket is located a bit low. The means that when the pen is in your pocket, about 3 cm of the pen sticks out the top. At first I thought that this as bad, since it can make your pen more visible, and maybe catch onto something. On the other hand, it also makes it much easier to get a grip and whip it out quickly, should an emergency ever arise. So this one is a tie.I still love this pen, it is the best that have encountered so far.

Quality for an amazing price!
I got this pen as a present for my father, who is very hard to buy for. He is ALWAYS losing his pens - usually in the washing machine - and I thought a tactical pen might be a little more indestructible. I was right! Before gifting it, I did my own inspection of it. It is very durable. My father has been known to accidentally drive fork lifts over his flashlights so that was a big plus. Speaking of the flashlight, it is incredibly bright for so small a bulb. I was honestly impressed. It even comes with extra batteries and an extra pen nib! The pen works great, and while I can't say I tried to break any glass or stab anyone with the end of it, it certainly seems like it would do the trick. As a weapons collector and pen enthusiast, I must admit my dad might not keep this long, because I just might steal it. I highly recommend this product and will more than likely be buying more of these for gifts throughout the upcoming year.

Very useful! I use it daily!
I've had my tactical pen for a few weeks now. I really like it a lot. It feels durable and strong. Not light and cheap. I use the flashlight everyday and it's extremely bright!

This is a safe buy if you're looking for something to carry in your pocket.
My wife bought this for me as a present. At first, I didn't think much of it, because most of these types of gadgets turn out to be kind of gimmicky. I honestly like it.
