Hampton Forge Red Rorik 7" Santoku Knife/Clear Blade Guard, 0.65 LB

This WAS my absolute favorite knife for chopping vegetables and fruits. The only negative was the red paint on the handle started coming off after a few weeks of use. The blade was super sharp and didn't seem to dull. Sadly, it got tossed out with vegetable skins, and I haven't been able to find it's replacement.

I love these knives because their red color is so pretty and the value of this set can't be beat. I got this set to replace similar knives I got several years back because I didn't realize they were NOT dishwasher safe and the handles' enamel would flake off! And note that these are NOT dishwasher safe, either! So if you handwash them with soft cloths - not scrub pads - they'll last forever.

I bought this knife after my wife's favorite paring knife was damaged (my fault) so I bought three paring knives. Three weeks later my wife said this one was the hands down winner. Fits well in her hand, was very sharp and easy to use, shape of the blade was well fitted to many tasks. Again she loved the handle comfort and even the color. It was a good buy for the price.

- Made in China- Block a little on the light side but solid- Scissors - hard composite(?) handle but shaped fine. Medium dutyThe steak knife handles feel possibly hollow but still substantial. They have a quite a nice weight to them, not overly heavy but still quite sturdy.The red finish is gorgeous, very rich, deep tones, but I did find a single scrape (see my pic). So it's going to happen but the enamel feels thick enough it shouldn't be too soon. Just don't toss them in the sink or let them get knocked around.The slots in the block aren't finished all that great. It's not a big deal to sand them, though, and doesn't get in the way.The edges are surprisingly well done. Nicely sharp, no burrs or flaws.The spines, however, are a little more blunt than I could have hoped for. If you have to use a second hand to push on the blade, be a little careful.A surprisingly decent set. I think it's currently well-priced at $99. Love it

My old paring knife is so dull its no longer usable. This one caught my eye, great price, the right size and love the reusable protective sheath. Red handle matches my kitchen decor and other utensils. Happy with this purchase, will probably buy a second one to have on hand.

This knife is very sharp and easy to cut up veggies.
