Q: Does the handle shed glitter or feel gritty?

No, they don't shed glitter or feel gritty.

Q: How should I clean these brushes?

I used a bar of facial soap with tea tree oil in it to clean/disinfect them. I swirl it around on the soap bar and then rinse in warm water. Repeat until the water runs clear. Then I just let them lay out to dry. They are very sturdy and the brush bristles held up very nicely.

Q: Do these brushes have lids? So you can cover the brush heads in your bag?

Mine didn't but I absolutely love these brushes. I just put mine in a zip lock when traveling.
