JS Sloane 1947 Aftershave 4oz

I have become addicted to this line of men's products. JS Sloan is simply in a category of their own. Amazingly classy packaging and actually a very fair price for the quality and quantity you receive. I wanted to save this for special occasions, but I have ended up wearing it everyday. The smell of the aftershave is different from the beard oil and aftershave balm,which is one of my very favorite fragrances, but I cannot exactly describe this fragrance, so maybe others can help out. To me, it has a slight spicy back note, but the front note is a sweeter scent which I cannot peg. Whatever it is, it is fantastic. It goes on with a nice warm, soft scent, not pungent or heavy and it does not fade so quickly that you feel you wasted your money buying it. I find I cannot smell it on me after awhile, but others have said there is a slight hint of something and they usually compliment the fragrance. I'm hoping a talc in their original fragrance will soon appear. Maybe, as the label states, there is something "classic" about the 1947 aftershave, since, in a very nostalgic way, it reminded me of my father, which is a wonderful thing. Like their packaging and label implies, everything they touch is gold!

I first smelled this when I took my son to a barbershop. I am a bald guy so I don’t go...haha. Anyways, after a few visits, I had to ask the barber what he used. The barber gave me this name, 1947 Splash. The smell is awesome and light. It is a clean musk smell but not overpowering. I have used this for a month now after every face shave. My neck would get red from shaving everyday, but is seems to have stopped. When applying to my face it is smooth and almost has a silky feel. I know people have different opinions on smells, but I would definitely buy again.

This stuff is amazing. Gives you a little sting if you cut yourself but provides a nice cooling feel. Plus it smells awesome.

I love the smell but bummed that the scent quickly fades.Aftershave goes well together with cologne Boss “The Scent.”

The idea is cool but the execution is lacking. Package and bottle look good, old school. But the bottle stopper fits loose and comes out when trying to shake out. The sent is subtle and soapy. I has alcohol but not enough for that antiseptic cool down. The other ingredients do add to a nice astringent feel and give you some cooling. The sent lasts an hour or so and is not too strong.

This a a great aftershave. Not overbearing or cheap smelling. If you want a classic barber shop aftershave this is the one. It's hard to find a good aftershave. As the product states: Great 1940's scent. It feels great after a shave. Will purchase again when this runs out.

I was expecting old time barber shop smell such as their excellent gloss coat for the final finish on the hair. This product has a very subtle smell almost non detectable )) The base might be an oil as it does not have the burn of alcohol but i like this zing from alcohol and its astringent and antiseptic purpose for any cuts . To me not worth the money, would rather have old spice. To bad they did not use the scent from their hair product which again is an excellent product.
