I have had trouble with damage to my second toe from running. It is very slightly longer than my big toe, but I didn’t even realize it until I started experiencing toe damage. Someone recommended that I try this brand because the shoes allow your toes to splay out naturally while running, instead of getting jammed up against the front of the shoes. Since I switched to these shoes, I no longer have second toe discomfort, and the nails are healing up! In addition, they still provide the cushion that I like to have for road running, and they are very breathable.

As of now, a week into owning these shoes, I am a big fan. They are very comfortable. I am concerned about their longevity as, like most other athletic style shoes, they are flimsy cloth uppers that won’t stand up to much. For now I am content with the purchase. This shape of the footbed is superb.

Ample toe room, takes a bit to get used to the snugness of the material but your toes get much more room if you utilize the extra hole for the shoe laces.

Third pair of Altra's and I still love them. Very true to size

My first pair of Escalante 3.0. Until now I wore the 2.0 or 2.5. I think these are an improvement.
