You only need a hole the size of the wire. You then install the connector on the wire at the radio.

Q: Is the connector already on the coaxed cable

Yes it is. I hat to remove it to fish the wire through my T-top then reconnect it when finished. It is very east to re-install much like the end on a TV cable.

Q: does this pick up AM FM radio signal?
