TetraWhisper IQ Power Filter, 175 GPH, with Stay Clean Technology, 30 Gallons

It fits perfectly into my 30 gallon fish tank. It’s strong so it’s keeping my fish tank clean and clear. It also is very quiet which I highly appreciate. I’ve had this brand before. I know it last long. It’s easy to use would buy again.

pretty good filter. ngl, it's quiet for sure, I am able to sleep with it on in my room and its decently sized so that you can also customize it with your own sponges as well as filter media. Also talk about the price on this thing its pretty good bang for your buck. I would honestly recommend this for beginners and people starting out their tanks, then they could move to more complicated stuff like airstone filters, sumps, and etc. Overall loving the product.

I really wish I made a video of opening and setting this up. No one is going to believe that I put it in the water poured one cup of water into the back of it, plugged it in and it started instantly working! I have never had an easier set up of a filter for any tank!

At first I was so confused on how to assemble this filter. But after some more reading the manual and using common sense it was easy to figure out 😅 it seems to be working good, it arrived today so I’ve only had it in my tank for a few hours. I love how the water flow is adjustable Its pretty quiet on the lowest flow setting but even on the highest water flow it’s still not that loud just sounds like flowing water which I like anyways. Water does splash out of the tank though as it flows out especially on the highest setting so to remedy that i just filled my tank up with more water until it reached right at the lip of the output of the water flow. I would give it 5 stars but it took me longer than it should to figure out assembly 🤣 I’m using this in my 20 gallon aquarium for my turtle so it is kinda bulky on the side of my tank but that doesn’t bother me all that much. I’d recommend it.

I've owned several Whisper branded power filters, as well as Rena external power filters, over the years and this is a review for the 60-gallon Whisper IQ. I actually have this 60-gallon unit mounted on a 75-gallon tank. From experience I think you can run a bit smaller filter and still get good quality water cleaning from the Whisper brand filters, and with these types of tank 'hanging' filters, you'll need plenty of tank wall real estate and can save some by going a little smaller. With my 75, I've got several feet of back wall space, but the 60g still takes a considerable width of the back wall.I really like the modular cartridge system. You can use Whisper's included activated carbon, or your media own to fill the disposable bags, I often rotate between activated carbon and zeolite. The 60-gal model uses two filter bags. Whisper sells bulk, I buy 12-packs of bags/media which are reasonably priced.The 75-gallon tank this filter resides in is home to a variety of community fish - tetras, gourami, guppies, mostly, along with live plants. Fish are fed once a day.The filter does it's job day in and day out. It's not so powerful as to instantly suck up all the flaked food that's put in the tank, nor have have any of the smaller fish (guppies) been injured or trapped by the pressure at the intake. Nonetheless, running 24/7, this filter moves and circulates a lot of water, and does it's part (along with the biologics) to keep the water crystal clear. Mechanical/motor noise level is minimal. The pleasant sound of falling/moving water is more noticeable than anything mechanical. The top of the filter is easily accessible through a removable top panel. Filter bags are easy to inspect and replace. The impeller has never jammed and the intake grate keeps large debris from damaging the impeller assembly. The top panel fits well and so far as I can tell there is no appreciable water loss through condensation occurring as a part of the filter's cycle.Happy with the purchase and wouldn't hesitate to purchase again, or a different model from the same manufacturer.

I bought this filter after the filter I had for two years stopped working. This was the best price for the size I needed. Once I pulled it out of the box it was much smaller than I expected, I wasn’t sure how it was going to do in my 55gallon tank. With life & everything we had going on it took us a bit to get a new filter after our old one stopped working. During this time my tank got bad, it was green and an absolute mess. My tank was horribly disgusting and I didn’t have high hopes that this filter was going to do the job. I put this filter in and my tank is crystal clean over night. I’ve had 4 or 5 different filters over the years, this one is by far the quietest, even on the highest flow. It’s a very simple, small filter, with mighty cleaning ability.

Love this much better already for my 20 gal tank than the other I was using. Takes up less space in the tank. Looks much easier to clean. I just love it. Quiet, really nice!!

Not bad for the price, easy setup and worked as needed other than it doesn’t suck up much and it started falling apart over time after only maybe a year of having it. And just recently it completely stopped working. Quality is okay but for the price you can’t be too mad about it.
