Can this go through a metal detector?

More than likely but one thing to consider is the small spring mechanism which may be metal I would try using a magnet to see if it is magnetic chances are if it isn’t you should be able to go through a metal detector

The pictures shows the 5ml bottle is 8.5 cm in length. Is that correct?

It is but I kept these a week and never found a way to pen them! I either got some that were sealed by mistake or I simply could not get them to open to fill!
