Like having a seat at the table with the Jungreis family
In each of Rebbetzin Jungreis' books you felt her heart and soul coming through, dispensing life wisdom with love and kindness. In her daughter's book, you get the same feeling in addition to having a window into being raised in their family. This gives me so much strength and so many tools as a new parent. Highly recommend!

Timeless wisdom for raising great kids !!
Unlike the plethora of parenting books on the market today, this inspirational treatise stands apart. Most books on parenting advice are written from the author's perspective on how to raise children, however the advice and practical tips outlined in "Raising a Child With Soul" emanate from the greatest manual ever created on child rearing and that is the Torah; the word of G-d. If you're looking for a book that will answer all of your parenting questions and concerns then this heartwarming volume is defintely the one. Parenting educator Slovie Jungreis-Wolff has transmitted (with great love) the timeless Torah wisdom that she's been imparting to her students for the past 13 years.Having been raised in a home completely imbued with Torah concepts, Mrs. Wolff's experience becomes her most treaured oracle. There is no doubt that the hedonistic cultural and societal norms that engulf us often pose a great danger to our children in terms of moral and ethical development. Slovie's guidance in creating a truly happy home vis a vis Torah directives allows us a unique perspective on what true happiness really means. Many parents today are truly unhappy campers themselves, having not been nurtured in homes where true and unconditional love are the order of the day. Discipline and self-control have given way to unabashed selfishness that manifests itself in complete immersion in the material world. Slovie teaches parents to view challenges and difficulties as opportunities to grow and develop and hence pass on this sanguine outlook to our children. This book is replete with a treasure trove of true stories that will make you laugh and cry and will reach deep within your heart. Her tips on practical parenting are an invaluable tool when it comes to dealing with everyday problems that our children face and will come in very handy on exceptionally frustrating days. If you're in a quandary on just how to discipline with love, how to communicate effectively, how to teach gratitude, how to deal with tension that arises from sibling rivalry, how to imbue your children with self-esteem and compassion, how to establish priorities, and how to create a home that reverberates with genuine happiness, then this book will be an epiphany of sorts. You don't have to be Jewish or have any familiarity with Torah to get a great deal from what is written here. This compelling page turner teaches that experiencing and teaching gratitude and appreciation is not beyond our capabilities and that with some effort we can manage to raise children with exemplary character traits.

My Favorite Book Ever. Best Gift you can buy for a new mother.
When someone asks me, name your favorite book ever written, I actually pause because- most people would say a Charles Dickens or Kafka novel. But I seriously believe this is the best book I have ever read. Ms. Wolff's book has actually changed the course of my life since I first read it about 2 years ago. I re- read it often; sits on my nightstand when I am going through a hard day with my children or I have a tough decision to make or I need some guidance. She understands how hard raising a child can be in a materialistic society and how hard it can be to stand on your own. This book is like Chicken Soup for your soul but with active suggestions and practical applications of how to raise a mensch and upstanding human being in everyday life. Examples you don't think about- teach your child to be a producer rather than a consumer- eg baking the cupcakes and then instead of eating it, bringing it to the sick neighbor or a teacher or another child... or have compassion for another child who might be bullied by inviting that child to sit with them one day on the bus.... She teaches discipline- Kids who are kosher accept that they cant have candy at a checkout counter without a tantrum. Yet my 4 year old falls to the floor when I say no with a big scene. Her book is a gift from G-d. I am not religious by any means, a reformed Jew, but I would definitely pick it up. A great gift....

Life Changing
This book within the first few pages helped me change direction as a parent. I was confused and disillusioned by the behavior of my 3 children who regularly never seemed happy or grateful for what they had or what they were given.By learning that a child/person is wired up to give rather than to take helped me be more concious about the need to design a way to instill a new habit of giving and the awareness of Tikkun Olam, bringing wholeness, healing and blessing to the people around me.I am still on my journey as a parent but now having acquired this book on Kindle,I believe I have a tool to help me.I have not read very far but I know I will enjoy the rest.....Thank you Slovi.....I believe I may have the opportunity to meet you in South Africa in June!!!!!ShalomPatricia Arbel

Practical advice deeply rooted in traditional values
We have read many parenting books and this one has resonated like no other. As a society we have lost our way to an extent and need to expect more from our children in terms of how they respect and treat their parents, siblings and friends. While the advice here is deeply rooted in Judaism, it would be useful to anyone seeking to instill good traditional values in their children. Only wish we had read it years ago..

Best Parenting Book I have ever read. Great for all adults who come in contact with children
Highly recommend this book to parents of any belief system. This is one of the most genuine families on the planet. They live, breathe, practice what is suggested for all families. The love, warmth, knowledge and depth ring true - you will be amazed. I admire the scholarship and the simplicity - two aspects that do not usually go hand-in-hand. I would love more and more of this. I feel that the author has at least another book or two in her. Such brilliance, humbleness, keen observance, and compassion! Thank you a million times thank you.

Sensible and wise
I first took this book out at the library, but ended up buying it because I enjoyed it so much (I rarely purchase books; I prefer the library). Sound, biblical wisdom. I'm Christian, not Jewish, but a lot of this still applied, and I would say that 75% of it would apply regardless of religion. I recently read an article on children being put under general anesthesia for dental procedures more and more frequently - often because the parents just don't feel like making their child do something they don't want to. Jungreis-Wolff makes it clear that parents are responsible to parent their children, not just babysit them, and gives great examples of how to do so.
