great information
This book provides great information to help prepare for the trip and has a very helpful map to provide an overall look at the hike. The cross sections help see what the daily hikes look like. It provides background information that will assist you in planning your hike and what you will see and experience

GREAT info and book of maps included!
This compact, little book has a ton of valuable information and includes a separate booklet of maps! It is easy to read and the information is clear and plain to understand.

It’s helpful for planning but…
Here is an honest review. Yes it’s fairly accurate when you are planning your route. It is not giving you all options. For example it’s saying that you have to walk to Zoldo for exit point from Carestiato, but you can actually also walk down to Agordo. Mentioning that would be helpful. But, here is what really bothered me quite a lot. This is my third trek and this book really downplays some sections as well as time to complete them. It is clearly written by someone who did not travel with a big pack and only had a day pack. If you are carrying a big pack you should know that the trail has lots of sections on a ledge (I do not like to be on extremely narrow ledge with a large pack on slippery gravel). I get it’s a high route. I done one before. I rather that the descriptions are more transparent and less dismissive. Don’t say that you will be on a exposed section but it’s very short as if that is nothing (maybe if you are carrying only water). Just be honest with me and say it’s a short but steep section on a ledge and with loose footing. I’d feel better knowing that and prepare for it. The maps suck. Just get one in town. No clue why everyone is so excited about them. It’s one of the worst maps I’ve seen.

Muito bom!
Este guia traz informações claras e boas ilustrações. Creio ser muito útil para quem está interessado em fazer o trekking da Alta Via 1. O livreto com mapas é bem completo. Esta é minha avaliação.

Handy maps.
Bought this for a friend who said it was ideal for planning walks. Maps are a great size.

Disappointing
The information on planning is not great. There is only one 11 day itinerary which it seems to me will be too slow for most. There is no help at all in devising faster itineraries. This makes it very hard for me to plan with. Also we were most interested in the Av1 via Ferrata variant which has not even been mentioned in the bookI would have only given it one star except that the map booklet is ok. Having said that I don’t think the maps they use are as good as the Tabacco maps I have used in Dolomites in the past. They seem to be a little lacking in detail as if they have just blown up other larger scale maps just to be able to say that they are using maps of a scale of 1:25k.I would not buy again. I would prefer to use Tabacco mapping
