Expensive but worth it for burn care
I had a second degree steam burn on my head, causing chunks of 15% of my scalp to fall off my head with hair attached. Once I was finished shedding damaged tissue, the healing progress was very slow because at first I was trying to keep the wound clean and dry and covered in a bandage. No I didn't go to a doctor no I didn't even research it. It was a nightmare because it was impossible to keep every last stray hair out of the wound, so then it would scab over and stick to the stray hairs and it was impossible to pull the hairs out without the scab coming off. Charming I know. Anyway, this ordeal of cleaning, drying, bandaging, scabbing, re-injuring, repeat, went on for 2 weeks before I had an epiphany: maybe there is a reason my scalp is producing ridiculously copious amounts of oil. I'm talking, soak the entire side of the pillowcase with scalp oil quantities of oil. I told you I was charming. Why am I removing this oil that my head is adamant about making? Sure enough, once I stopped cleaning and drying it, the copious scalp oil lubricated any stray hair and prevented the scab from sticking. Same with the bandage.I was going to go on a digression about how pungent my scalp oil smelled because it was really quite remarkable and always had a hint of a scent of whatever I ate last. And how it was slightly pale yellow mostly clear, but left really crusty stains behind. That pillowcase I mentioned? Sopping wet in the morning, crusty as a saltine by afternoon. So I am now a huge fan of scalp oil. Unfortunately, it's pretty gross and stinky, and believe me, if I think it's gross it's GROSS. During one of my marathon all night scalp oil research binges, I found a random letter in a medical journal in Australia mentioning how this product was the only thing that worked for a patient with a difficult scalp injury. For any scalp trivia geeks in the crowd, a common complication that slows healing is ingrown hairs trying to pop up through the wound but getting stuck in the scab, leading to the vicious circle I mentioned above. The correspondent found that copious amounts of this lotion did the trick better than natural scalp oil. I reluctantly agree that this product is superior to scalp oil especially in scent and flavor. Unlike scalp oil it's not edible but that is really the only category where scalp oil gets a W.Seriously, this is like the smoothest lotion physically possible. It's smoother than coconut oil going on but isn't oily, and it rubs into your skin but not completely. It's not a residue, but your hands are just super soft afterwards. If price is no object and you have a serious scalp burn and you think doctors are charlatans at best and your spouse woke up stuck to your scalp oil pillowcase stain and suggested you find an alternative treatment to all-natural, you've read the right review and found the right product. Thank God, because if you do not have a head injury and you read to this point, I regret to inform you that you have a head injury.

Not for me
I was recommended this expensive oil fir my newborn who’s skin is severely cracked. It didn’t appear to moisturize at all. I would’ve preferred it have a but more texture for me. I sent it back.
