Heavy duty lock and strap that gives confidence
This is a reassuringly capable bike lock for a high value bike. It's apparently one of the lightest Gold standard locks out there, but it isn't light to handle. Other buyers have remarked on needing a degree of wrist strength to bend it from its flat, relaxed, form into a circle (as pictured) so as to lock it. That's true, but I have never found it too difficult to manage and I'm pretty sure other blokes will say the same.Locking the rear wheel to the frame, for example, is straightforward but there's not a lot of slack left to lock it - and the bike - around anything larger than a standard bike rail. To overcome this, and lock it to trees and drainpipes etc, I carry another flexible locking cable. That would go around the tree and the Litelok then feeds through the locking cable. (It's worked well for me in the past, and you don't always find a suitable bike rack where you need one). One final point. The Litelok will need to feed through your wheel 'flat' so as not to put any strain on the spokes, so measure the width between your spokes and compare this with the width of the Litelok strap. With my 29er wheel it turns out to be a perfect fit but it's worth checking for your own wheel.

Sound investment
Am pleased with this lock. Purchased it to protect a new and fairly expensive bike, and to fulfill insurance requirement. Very unlikely that a thief will get past it. It does require some effort to use because it's quite stiff, but with practice you soon get used to it (a very satisfying and confidence giving clunk as that heavy duty lock secures). It's not as easy to carry as more conventional locks, but that's a consequence of the design that was necessary to make it such a serious product. I've found a couple of convenient ways to attach it to the bike when riding.

Easy to use and feels secure
This is my second Litelok. I'm embarrassed to say that my first one was stolen. I left my bike outside our house but FORGOT to lock it. The Litelok was in the pannier. I bought this Litelok through KickStarter and was really pleased that my investment gave me a really good lock that I enjoyed using. I'm gutted that one night only I forgot to lock the bike with this awesome lock.I ordered this new one and I'm now way more vigilant in using it.

Size matters
This lock, while undoubtedly very secure, is not ideal for electric bikes, or probably any push-bike. It is not long enough so it can rarely go round part of the bike frame and a fence post for example. It is also somewhat inflexible and I wonder if it needs to be as wide as it is. It is heavier than I had imagined. Is there no cable that meets Gold standard and is reasonable light, flexible and long enough.?

Innovative product - but understand its application and limitations
My e-bike frame has no space to store a standard U-lockSo I was looking for something as strong, given the value of the bikeAt first, the lock was very stiff, hard to turn the key. It's become easier with useLikewise, the whole strap has become easier with use to flex and bend - at first it was difficult to even get the two ends together, even without a bike involved. It has become easier to close now. After 20 or so uses, I can now put through the rear wheel, round a street bike park hoop, and through the main frame, and close with relative easeNB it has to go between the spokes at its full width, which is pretty tight on my bikeI use the velcro straps to store it on the bike, along the cross bar.First couple of times, I put the metal end to the rear, and the scuffed the the read mudguardI now wrap the velcro round the handle bar post, and round the rear of the crossbar - works for now, don't know how long the straps will last

Solid quality product. Key can be a bit hard to turn at times, but very happy with this product.

Hard, stiff and inflexible!
Unfortunately this lock is too stiff and inflexible and I was unable to lock it even when pressing on a table to help me, so definitely could not lock it when out. I also found it a little too wide to fit comfortably between wheel and frame.
