Does not fit heavier umbrella poles. I have wooden 9' foot patio umbrellas, this light does not fit around pole

Light is great and price is great

This is a fantastic product. It is a bright light that clips around your patio umbrella and also doubles as a tent lamp if needed. This thing gives off an incredible amount of light to illuminate the table below and looks like it should easily fit standard patio umbrellas.This is a nice method to add some light to an outdoor umbrella with minimal fuss or bother. The unit is shaped like a large doughnut that unlatches to fit around an umbrella pole. There are two spring-loaded grip points in the “hole” of the doughnut that hold the light in place.On the plus side, the light output is very nice. It’s a cool white light (more on the blue side of the spectrum than the yellow) which looks nice. It’s bright enough to provide light to see at night, but not so bright that you feel you’re under an interrogation lamp. I’ve been mounting it so the light faces down towards the table, but you can also mount it so the light points up, which casts indirect light. It’s a nice effect if you want subtle accent or “mood” lighting.It runs on 3 AA batteries (not included). I’ve been running it on rechargeable AA cells without any problem. It has an input port for AC adapter. that really crimps the portability of the unit – battery power is ideal since there are no wires to worry about.In a word, this is a very nice product, and provides a considerable amount of light shown onto your picnic table or similar intended item. You can literally play cards, write, or a game, from the amount of light this product provides. I have decided to buy the second one.

We pretty much love to live outside so long as it’s not pouring rain. So, I am a big fan of outdoor entertaining. I especially like the product is cordless and rechargeable.We bought this new 'umbrella light' because our old one had started to fail, the battery wasn't holding its charge & because its outside all the time both near a pool & in the rain it had got wet/damp on numerous occasions, but it had lasted well.Anyway we got this new one, & I must say the brightness of the lights is amazing, the rechargeable battery is holding its charge very well, actually I don't think I've had to charge it yet & I've had it over a week with 4/5 uses each evening, it’s obviously much better (as would be expected for a new unit), anyway it lights up a very wide area too, not only for those in the immediate vicinity of the umbrella but for those sitting outside of the umbrella's main seating area too, you can clearly & easily see people’s faces etc making it easier to hold a conversation.This product is "exactly" what is advertised, is complete, well made, works as advertised. If we have one concern, it would be our hope that the included (self contained) 4 AA removable rechargeable battery pack holds up. It took a long time (8hrs.) for the battery pack to take its first charge with both the AC Adapter and Battery becoming very warm, almost actually hot.Now I have 2 of these and I *love* them. Whenever people come over, they ask where to get these.
