Great filter system
I installed this filter system back in summer of 2019. Took a buddy and I a bit to do because how my basement is setup and what the previous owner did with it. Once I mounted the chassis to the wall, it was relatively straight forward to plumb the water into the filter system with shutoff valves before and after the unit, and a drain valve after. After a year and change of use, this system is still performing amazingly! With the initial set of filters, the middle (charcoal) filter completely blocked the flow and would not allow any flow through. I ran with it removed for a bit, and that was an automatic improvement in my water quality! Chlorine was mostly gone! While this was going on, I contacted Express Water, and they sent me a replacement set immediately. Great company to work with. When I went to install, this new filter worked perfectly. Even more improvement in the water quality! I frankly find it disgusting the amount of sediment that has been trapped. That filter turned DARK BROWN! I can't imagine going without this whole house filter! It says it works up to 80 psi, and I am close to that at 76 psi. No leaks, weeps, or anything. The system is great! One note: If I have one con, it's that the filter housings do not have drain valves on them.

This is a great whole house water filter solution!
I installed this as a DIY project using PEX tubing and SharkBites connectors and valves. While this was probably a more expensive option it was something I wanted to try. I did have difficulty connecting into the unit with a 1" metal threaded connectors. I believe this may have caused some damage to the threads on the input side. However, the company worked with me and provided me a replacement for the first stage head at no cost so I was able to repair and install the full unit. Their customer support was incredible to work with. They want the product to be successfully installed and will work with you to make sure you are happy. The one suggestion I would make is if you have to adapt the one inch connector to a three-quarter inch connector, use a PVC 1" to 3/4" threaded connector and install it into both ends first. This way if you have any problems you just replace the pvc connector, not the full first stage head. While this was it doable installation, it required some thought and a little bit of plumbing experience to put it together. Even hiring a plumber to install this would be worth doing if you are not comfortable with this kind of work. In the end, I am extremely happy with this product. It works well, doesn't impact the flow rate of my well water, and my water tastes great. I no longer have to worry about putting filters on every sink in my house. They have a great product here for a reasonable price. Other contractors wanted to come in and install similar systems four four times as much. If you are a little handy or can have someone install this, it is well worth the purchase price.

Makes a huge difference!
I never drank the water at my house because it tasted funky, smelled a little, and on the worst of days, was cloudy or downright dirty brown. The water company said everything was safe and normal within allowable limits but I didn’t care. I bought bottled water and had a 5 gallon water cooler for drinking. After seeing brownish water in the tub one too many times, I decided to buy a whole house filter. After a bit of reading and research, I settled on the 3 stage, 20” inch filter unit from Express Water. Long story short, I have the cleanest water in the parish now! If I said it tasted great, that’d be a bit of a lie because it doesn’t taste like anything now. It’s crystal clear, odorless, and tasteless. Time will tell if an outdoor installation causes me any problems but just to be safe and for looks, I painted some steel and enclosed the frame to keep the UV light off of the filter housings. Pros: SUPER CLEAN water Little to no loss of pressure Long filter life Reasonable filter replacement cost Pressure gauges and bleeding valves Sturdy frame for standing or wall mount Clear sediment filter housing Cons: None yet

Great filter system
What a difference this made for my whole house. The water filter makes the shower water softer. I feel cleaner when I get out to dry. Clothes are so soft and it removed the well water smell. Great product

Great Value, But Read the Reviews!
Installed this system last weekend. Took about 4hrs, including a trip to the store for additional hardware. Install went fairly smoothly, thanks to spending a solid hour reading dozens of reviews here. Key takeaways, to save you time... 1) The 1" MNPT threaded inlet/outlet fittings are definitely oversized. I took the advice of other reviewers and applied a full 10 turns of teflon tape and tightened them down as much as I felt safe doing, given the housing is plastic. Thankfully, this resulted in no leaks. Even though my pressure regulator is set to 70psi. 2) The overall system is quite heavy. I used concrete self tapping screws (with a masonry drill bit pilot hole) and mounted right to cinder blocks. To be extra sure, I added a wood brace beneath to stabilize, as well. 3) The Pressure gauge threads are also prone to leaking, so I not only added ten turns of teflon tape, but a dab of silicone as well. One out of three was reading zero pressure, so I backed it off a 1/8 turn and it read fine, and no leaks. I followed the standard practice of putting shutoff valves and a bypass, in case the system needs to be serviced. Also went with the iSpring 100micron sediment filter to help extend the life of the SED. The photo shown is after just 12 hours of flushing and normal household use, and it's already got a bit of a beige tinge to it. Shocking how much sediment it captures. Our tap water tasted pretty good before, especially after running the tap for a few seconds. Now it tastes good right off the bat. And instead of replacing my refrigerator filter for $50 twice a year, I can replace the entire house filter for nearly the same cost.

Didnt know my water was this bad
We are on city water. We usually drink filtered water or bottled water but we bathe and launder our clothes on tap. About a year ago i started developing a rash that spread over my arms and legs and back. My wife also noticed really itchy skin and red spots. After much diet adjustment and some dermatologist visits we decided to see if our water was the problem. We dont have a water softener and we do have hard water. A cheap water test didnt show anything too concerning except an elevated chlorine marker, but still within normal range. I researched water filters and decided on this for its relatively low initial cost. Install was easy, tho buying the sharkbite connections was expensive as i setup a bypass. I used a lot of teflon tape and a 1inch male to male brass nipple that connected to a 1inch to 3/4 sharkbite water softener hose, which then connects to 3/4 pex. I check it daily for leaks and havent noticed any. I also put a leak detector in the area to alert us if something happens. The unit is bigger than the pictures suggest and it feels very well made. I attached pictures of day 1 vs day 4 and theres significant discoloration of the sediment filter after only 4 days. We also have noticed greatly improved skin after only a few days. I greatly believe that what goes in our body has a huge effect on our health i just never considered that our cities water was bad enough to cause such dramatic symptoms. The filters are going to run about $100-$125 a year but we were already paying 50-80 just for fridge filters and this does the whole house. It sucks that we have to have that expense considering how much we pay for water supply but i wouldnt be surprised if more health issues are due to something we take for granted like water whether its Overtreatment or undertreatment.

Well water NOW drinkable
Do you use Britta pitchers for well water? We did and NOW we don't. I had my plumber install this water filtration system yesterday. Was it easy? No, because you're limited to the inlet being on the LEFT side only on this unit. Luckily my plumber saw this OR I would have rated this 5 stars instead of 4 for easy to install. Copper is not cheap and when you have to loop the copper in order to install this you'll understand. As for the water quality it's crystal clear right and I don't hesitate to drink my own well water now. So that you understand my system I'll give you the order of what I have: 1) Water comes in and goes first through an IRON tank, then through 2) The water softener, then through 3) The sediment spinner filter, then through 4) The Express Standard Whole House water filters (this item), then through 5) My water pressure booster as I didn't want to lose water pressure throughout my house. Issue #1 - you MUST put plumber sealer on the o-rings at the top of each of the 3 water filter canisters BEFORE you turn on the water to your system or they will LEAK. Luckily this was an easy fix but something hopefully you will NOT forget to do after reading this review. Water will fill your gauges but no worries, that is normal and it didn't affect registering the pressure. I didn't have the gauge leaks that others reported on their systems. I had my plumber put in gauges before the water filtration system and after my water pressure booster so I know what pressure I have coming from my well and what's going out of my pressure booster into my pipes. It's week #1 - I'll come back and revise my review with pictures and again after a couple of months of use.

Great system
Excellent system!!! Our municipal water is almost undrinkable due to the chlorine levels, after installing this our water tastes amazing!! We also paired this system with a 100 and a 50 micron sediment spin down filter and UV Sterilizer.

Easy Installation when you have the right parts
Easy to put together and to change the direction of flow. Seems well built and sturdy. The manual is fine for what it is. The only problem with it is that the in/outlets are 1"NPT. Basically impossible where I am to find anything 1" that isn't black iron as the housing is plastic. Getting from 1" down to 3/4" PEX without 10 different fittings or spending another 150$ to do it in all copper was a bit of a challenge. If only they included a couple for bushings to bring it to 3/4" which is a bit more standard for a home plumbing system.
