I have a 5inch vice, should I go for the medium or large?

I have the large and it is the same size as the 6in jaws on the vide. I think the large would be a bit big in a 5 inch vise . So I would go with a medium .

It will hold a gun stock, but it's hard plastic and would very likely mar/dent the finish ... I wouldn't risk it.
