Tornado00510 Extended U-Hook

These hooks are very durable. We use them in a commercial setting where we hang squeegees on them. They get a lot of use and we’ve had no issues with construction or durability. I would definitely recommend.

Very Cool: they seem to be made from decent steel (so no sudden aluminum crack failure), strong enough for a few shovels in a row, and the cheery orange color and blunt ends will save me when I whack my head on them by accident. I mounted them on a 2x8 10 feet long piece of wood, because they are designed to hang lower than the mounting screws: weight on the hanger does not lever the screws out, like most hooks of this size, but the back end of the hook rests on the mounting surface, and the hanging weight pushes the back end of the hook into the wall. I used a board to avoid dents in the wall. In the picture, they use the giant "Tornado" wedge-shaped screws, which are designed to hold in drywall---They Don't Hold, and leave a GIANT hole to fill later. Use the small holes in the mounting plate for #8 or #10 screws about 1 1/2 into wood (2 inches for through drywall into the stud--They will hold just fine, but will dent the wall at the back of the hook itself. (I have used the Tornado screws into wood, but they really are shaped like an ice cream cone, and the pilot hole size is a little hard to guess-timate--but they do hold like a demon in wood!). If you might want to move the hooks around, get some smaller screws of the appropriate length for the project, and put the Tornado screws far away so you won't be tempted--they hold well, but they leave such a big hole that you can't really reuse the piece of wood.

These seem to be nice hooks however, I WISH they were welded together better.... They are welded together known as the "bird crap" welds... meaning they are 4 little spots of welded material rather than a solid bead around the entire top and bottom portion.I used JBweld and put it all along the top and bottom of the bracket for a little security, even though it might prove to be useless. These are rated for 40lbs if attached to a stud. Chinese stuff is notorious for over exaggerating their numbers, so I guess I will update my review in a few months.I am using these to mount my MaxJax lift arms of my one pillar on the wall to get them off the floor. These hold the arms perfectly. See attached pictures.I am using two to hold each arm. Each arm is roughly 50lbs. So in theory these two hooks should be enough to hold the weight IF they are actually rated at what they claim. There is SOME deflection with these when I put the arms on the hooks. I did notice on the packaging that they do not guarantee the load rating which makes you wonder... But again seems to be a common overseas thing :-(UPDATE: 3-17-2016They are still hanging on the wall. No issues or problems.UPDATE: 8-12-2016:Doesn't appear that anything is cracking/bending. So far so good!UPDATE: 12-18-2016:I've taken the lift arms off and on countless times during the week. No issues.*I am purchasing 4 more so that I can hang the other two arms on the wall now.Time will tell and will update in a few months.UPDATE: 6-29-2017Still on the wall. Probably safe to assume no issues.I bought 4 more and will be hanging the other arms on the wall once I re-do some spaces in the garage to clear/make it more efficient.

Received it next day free with prime and this thing is a breeze to install. Needed something to keep my echo SRM 225 up and off the ground in the garage and stumbled upon this.Didn't even put it into studs. It comes with two really cool self tapping screws. The back of the hook has a pin you just push into the wall first. Then you just drive in the two screws into the two holes and it's in the wall. The instructions say you can do it with a screwdriver but I used the driver on my battery powered drill\driver. It took less than 5 minutes.As for longevity I will update if anything happens to it, but it's holding a max weight of 15 lbs easily with no problems or noticeable "pulling" from the wall.Definitely recommend this to anyone that needs to clean up there garage or shed clutter

I was looking for a way to mount my Stihl String Trimmer to the wall for better organization. I came across this hook and it worked perfectly. It fit my stihl trimmer perfectly. it is a great price, mounted very easily and seems extremely sturdy. I already purchased 2 more to hang other equipment.

I bought this so I could hang a cordless weed trimmer in the garage. The fit is perfect. It looks like a custom design. The width is big enough that it is easy to position the trimmer in it and the curved part of the hooks snug right up against motor housing. The rubber coating on the hooks acts as a cushion and prevents slippage. The trimmer hangs securely.Mounting the U-Hook was a breeze. A tab on the back of the mounting plate can be pressed into drywall to aid in holding it in place during installation. The screws are designed to draw themselves into the drywall and hold. It's important to not over tighten them or they will strip out the hole. I used a cordless drill with a Phillips screwdriver attachment and had it installed in just a few minutes.

Works really well. Bought several of them to hang all sorts of things in the garage (skis, step ladder, shovels, edge trimmer, camping chairs). Very sturdy, especially when anchored into wood.
