Oh. My. Goodness... One of Mountain Houses best!
You can pretty much ignore all the paid vine reviews here. Most of them probably don't eat freeze dried food often or haven't spent years using this brand while camping. It's not bland, it's not soupy, and you don't have to adjust the amount of water you add. It certainly does taste like pad Thai, it just doesn't have fresh crushed peanuts. If you want it to taste exactly like pad Thai, add some chopped peanuts. It's very spicy, the reviewer that said it was bland obviously didn't try it. If you don't like spicy food, this isn't for you. If you like spicy food, you'll love this.Use exactly the amount of water specified in the package, 1 and 1/3 cups. Bring the water to a rolling boil, remove the oxygen absorber, add the water, stir, close the package. Wait about 10 minutes, open the package, stir all the way to the bottom, close the package. Wait about 10 more minutes, open the package, stir, and then enjoy it!It's a trade off between how well you reconstitute it and how hot you want it to be (temperature, not spice). Giving it a full 20 minutes really gets the water absorbed into the noodles and chicken all the way. The longer you can wait, the better it will taste. It tastes somewhere in the middle of pad Thai, chicken with garlic sauce, and chicken chow fun with thinner noodles. It's got to be one of the best mountain house meals that they make. It's so full of spices and garlic... you'll be thinking about when you'll be having another.I'll buy a bunch more of it when prices come back down.

Tasty & good quality
Like other Mountain House meals, use 1 1/2 cup of water instead of 1 1/3. Also increased the time before and after stirring by a minute or two to make sure the chicken rehydrates all the way. Good flavor, medium spiciness.

One of my favorites!
I bought these for emergency rations, but wanted to try them all first to make sure I would like them and see how they hold up after being rehydrated. Nothing could be worse than being in an emergency situation and then having to have sub-par food. I am happy to say that this one actually turned out to be one of my favorites from Mountain House! Every bit of it rehydrated well, and the taste was on point! Personally I like to add some red chili flakes to it and it brings it to another level. If you like Pad Thai, defintely give this one a try- I would even eat it on a normal circumstances because its easy to prepare and it tastes so good!

Good stuff.
I bought a variety of these MH packets for a motorcycle trip. They taste great. Pro tip: separate them into two portions and put each in a ziplock bag. Get a bowl with a lid - Sea to Summit makes a good one - and you’ll save a lot of space. Just write how much water to add and what they are on each bag - far less waste and no leftovers to deal with (I travel solo and each MH bag contains like 2 servings). I reduced the space they took a lot by doing this. Did the same with powdered potatoes.

This is actually really good!
I was definitely impressed with the flavor of this stuff! It's kind of spicy and tastes better than some padd tai I've gotten from Chinese restaurants! It's a good flavor to change things up. I have mine for camping and for emergencies. I haven't had a bad Mountain House meal yet! I wish they were a little cheaper, and that you got a little more for the price. But you just can't beat the fact that this stuff will last a minimum of 25 years!!

Flavorless
Not bad for what it is, definitely will want to spice it up yourself because it's extremely bland. Would buy again. People just need to understand these type of meals are normally bland so won't give a bad rating for it but if ur new to freeze-dried food don't expect a flavorful meal.

Good for what is designed for!
It's good stuff for freeze dried. One cannot can expect it would be just like a fresh dish. Although it is reasonably close, especially if you are out in the sticks, and its cold, and its late, and you are hungry. This is better than any other freeze dried food I've had.

You can add to it
I love Pad Thai. Before I add the hot water, I add about half a brick of Romain noodles, a couple of dried red peppers with seeds, crushed and a couple of squirts of Sriracha. Put in the water, mix well, let sit and after about 5 or 6 minutes, mix again and let sit 5 more minutes. YUM!
