Factors in people’s lives, interpersonal connections, and physical factors can all contribute to mental health disruptions. Somehow, in ways we can not explain, negative thinking, critical thinking, and self-sabotaging thoughts seem to come easily and unbidden to our minds. So easily that we do not even notice most of the time. This book helps with taking back control. We can't continue to just exist, coasting through life day after day and just taking anything life throws at us. No! We can not, and we should not!Taking the time to study, understand, grasp and implement the tips in this book will open our eyes and our minds to new and exciting possibilities that do not only exist in the realms of the mind but that can be actualized in our daily dealings.Positive thinking helps a lot. But positive thinking can be stymied by self-sabotaging doubts and critical thinking. We need to stop second-guessing our every move and trust the process, trusting ourselves enough to believe in ourselves. Then and only then can others believe in us, AFTER we have believed in ourselves. This book is great. I have copied out the exercises. I have also followed the tips and practical exercises and will continue to do so every day even after I get it all right. I was shocked at the accuracy...when I was reading this book and it got to the part where examples of the negative things we say to ourselves were listed. Like... I almost couldn't believe my eyes. It was as if the author lived in my mind and took note of everything.I am convinced enough by this book to commit to eliminating negative thinking PERMANENTLY from my life. I am committed to self-love. I will love myself. I will not be too hard on myself no matter what. I will hold on to this guide and embrace its help in developing positive thinking and emotional intelligence.A lot is going on out there with people going over the edge just because whatever it is they're going through becomes too much for them to handle. Young people are committing suicide these days more than ever before. This book talks about "Accepting the Sadness," and it makes so much sense. When we accept the sadness and embrace the pain, we are set on the path to healing and recoveryLooking after mental health can preserve a person’s ability to enjoy life. Doing this involves reaching a balance between life activities, responsibilities, and efforts to achieve psychological resilience.Conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety can all affect mental health and disrupt a person’s routine. In this book, the author explains what causes negativity, Why your mental state matters so much and proffers tips for steadying and improving your mental state. Good Book to Help You to Recover Some Perspective
I am generally a pretty positive person but have been reading self help and positivity psychology books since the early 1990s, I have found them a great way of allowing me to gain control over my own life, but also to regain some perspective when things change. If you are suffering from depression, anxiety, or just occasional low moods, then this book could help. This type of book will not completely dispense with the need for professional help if you are in a really bad place, but can help you gain perspective and certainly can't hurt. The important thing to remember about negative thoughts I think, is that they are just thoughts, not usually reality, for the best amount of time we drive ourselves crazy with things that haven't yet happened, and probably won't.If you can catch yourself in the process of overthinking then it is a little easier sometimes to change your thoughts to something better. With thoughts, usually like attracts like, the more positive you feel, the more positive you will think, and vice versa, in fact it is your thoughts that control your emotions. Therefore, pay attention to your emotions, as they will act as a good guide to your current thoughts.Having read many similar books over the years, I can say with a degree of certainty, that the information in many isn't necessarily new, but you wouldn't necessarily expect it to be; it is just written in a different way. Some books will suit one reader more than another, and that is why it is good to have variety. So, you may have heard the information in this book before, but it is how it is written that is important. This is a relatively short and easy to read book, that organises the information into some simple steps that you can follow. These steps definitely can help you gain perspective, don't expect immediate miracles, but do remember, you will need to implement these steps to see any differences, reading the pages without making any changes won't help. Don't beat yourself up about it if you don't manage straight away, just keep at it.Remember, you are not alone, we are all the same, a mixture of two halves, even the most positive person will have days when they feel negative, and once you recognise that, it is easier to remember that just because you feel bad today, doesn't mean you have to tomorrow.Good luck and take care.
