Love this thing.
This cyclone separator is just what I needed. It is overpriced in my opinion, but I could not find it anywhere else. But it does work and I am very pleased.

Everything I Hoped For
I had the Jet which I really liked actually, despite the bad reviews. I have a Camvac 90L high pressure system and finally got the nanomax filter upgrades for the motors. Not having a three stage filter system on the machine anymore, I needed something better at stopping the fine dust from reaching the extractor itself. I didn’t want to go cheap and Oneida has a good name and are known for quality products. After putting it through its paces for a couple months and opening the Camvac, I was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of fine dust getting through. It was next to nothing. I have helical blades in the planer and jointer and I was doing a lot of dados on the router table, all of which creates fine dust. I’m extremely happy with the build quality, there’s no fear of the high pressure collapsing the unit. Beyond that, the performance is actually better than my expectations. I reworked my entire ducting system and location of the extractor and cyclone, so I’m very glad that all the work was worth it. It would’ve been a shame to do all that and get the same results as the jet. I wasn’t overly concerned with loss of suction due to it being a larger unit than the Jet, but any worry I did have wasn’t warranted. I’m sure it has more to do with the high pressure system, regular collectors I know suffer more

Upgrade Your Dust Collection
I had the old Harbor Freight dust collector with a plastic bag and a cloth filter for years. I finally converted it to a two stage filter (there are countless YouTube tutorials showing how to do this). This little gadget might seem a bit expensive for a piece of plastic, but it works flawlessly, and it is a critical part of the process! I found a metal 55 gallon barrel, with lid, on marketplace. I used a saber saw to cut the hole in the lid and bolted the cyclone to the top. I disassembled my dust collector and converted to a two stage filter. Now, practically every bit of sawdust drops into the 55 gallon barrel. I got a good quality filter to replace the cloth bag (again, find a good YouTube video on converting to a 2-stage dust collector). My shop is cleaner than it has ever been. The barrel is easy to empty, and the cyclone doesn't let sawdust get through to clog the filter. If you are considering this upgrade, do it.

Works better than anything I've tried so far.
Yes, I think it costs too much, and yes, I'm still glad I bought it. I had been using a product that may be familiar--a lid with two ports, one of which has an elbow. That worked fairly well. This works far better. I had replaced the felt bag filter on my dust collector with a pleated filter. I was having to clean the filter frequently, and by clean I mean remove the cannister and spend up to a half hour clearing out the debris and dust between the pleats. Compressed air or running a flapper thing around the inside accomplished almost nothing. Since installing the Dust Deputy I have not had to clean the filter, and I would estimate I have been using it four or five times as long as the interval between cleanings that used to be necessary. So far, I do not seem to have lost any efficiency since the filter was clean. I made my own lid to fit my own collection barrel and found that the bolts that were supplied to fasten the Dust Deputy to the lid were too short. If I recall correctly, they were 1/4 20 bolts an inch long. Someone planning to make his own lid might need to take that into account.
