All filters came when they were supposed to, but I have not replaced the current one yet, so I don't know if the quality will be the same. They do look similar, but the filters came in a white generic box which surprised me. I figured that they would be filters box for Purolator not just a generic white. Thats okay with me as long as the quality of the filter is the same and they fit the way they are supposed to. They are a cheaper quality filter than what I have received previously. Probably explains why they were selling for a cheaper price. I think that they will still filter properly so at this point, I think that I purchased a good deal. Now I'll have to see if they hold up until I'm due for a filter change.

It took 30 minutes to do the first filter and once trained it took just 15 minutes to install the second one. Great product. I dated the filter box so I can change again next year.

This is the OEM factory filter you need for the 2400 series Aprilaire filter system. The instructions on the box for filter replacement are clear and easy to follow - once you do it the first time it's a snap. I've done it several times and it takes me about 10 minutes start to finish. Heating and A/C companies usually charge at least $75 to change out one of these filters. Through Amazon you can buy 2, with shipping, for around $55 - really nice savings.

Fits perfectly into the frame and easy to change yourself. The price was good and shipping was so fast, they sat next to the furnace for a few days before I had time to change it out.

This replacement filter is NOT by American Air Filter. AAF no longer makes a replacement filter for the Aprilair 401. This unit is supposedly by Purolater, although there is no markings whatsoever on the filter, does not come individually boxed (which would normally give some info or clue as to the mfgr or its specifications), and has only cryptic coding on the shipping box. Comparing the filter media to that of a AAF unit (had one last, unused AAF) the media is substantionally thinner. Will it still perform as advertized (hepa 11) and will it last and not fail (tear) in operation, dont know. Would feel better if there was some identification as to its pedigree. Debating whether to keep these these and try them, or spend the time and money to return them. If we use them, will update this review in the future. In the meantime, would suggest that one look elsewhere for a 401 replacement. Dont feel good about these.
