My kid is 4.5 y.o. and he’s fond of exploring the world around. He is very interested at looking for bugs life, catching butterflies, looking at birds… So, this kit just fits him perfectly!Start with binoculars – they are very good quality, and magnify as advertised. They make my son busy, looking at birds and other things. Very happy with it.The flashlight – very bright, and a good way to talk to your kid and explain how stuff works and how motion is transformed to electricity.Compass – in our world children see compass only in iPhone, and have no idea how the real ones look like. Definitely a cool thing that can teach your child a lot.This set also comes with magmifier glass, butterfly net and a bag to carry all the stuff.Very nice and quality set, all arrived in time and works as expected! We're planning a camping trip on Memorial day weekend, and wanted to get the kids excited about going to nature.Plan was to give them the kit as a gift a few days before, so they can try it and get excited about the trip.Forgot to mention to my wife not to open the Amazon box, and the kids "discovered" it too early, and got really excited.We did not yet had the opportunity to take to nature, but they keep experimenting it through out the house and backyard.They're still not sure what to do with the compass and the net, but the hat and the flashlight are already a hit!!(try to convince a 5yrs old, that sleeping with a hat is not a great idea ...)

Great gift for my 4 year old daughter. Her binoculars are her favorite. She will go grab them when I ask her to help me find something around the house. They are low magnification but they don’t need to be focused and my daughter just wants things to look a little bigger when she uses them. She doesn’t really use any of the others tools. She showed little interested in the compass when she first got it but lost interested pretty quickly. The hat would have been cute for her to wear but it’s too small. She played with the net with some of her other toys but never thought about catching butterflies. She’s talks about wanting to catch and touchy bugs buts she’s actually scared of them when she sees them in person. The bag was a good idea but my daughter never used it to store everything. This was probably more my fault because I never taught her to use the bag to store everything. Even though she doesn’t play with everything I’m very pleased with the purchase because of the binoculars. She was asking for a pair before I got the kit and the ones i got were perfect for her.

This is a great kit! The quality of each item inside is very good and they actually work. I also liked the sling bag that came with it, thick and durable, this helps if you kid is walking around in the outdoors with it. The binoculars and compass are actually functional which is nice. The magnifying glass is NOT functional or good - just plastic! This can definitely be improved. Other than that everything else worked out well.Overall great product!

This was one of my 5 year old nephew's favorite Christmas gifts. When he checked everything out he got so excited and couldn't wait to get outside and try them. Sadly tho he had to wait until the next day since it was night when he opened it lol

I was very impressed with this product. When I ordered it initially my expectations were not very high as to it being quality items. We purchased this for my son's eighth birthday. When he opened the present and we took every thing out of the box, my husband and I were amazed at the quality of the product! Everything is durable and made for a boy!!! That is unusual to find these days! I would HIGHLY recommend this product for kids who are interested in nature and will be purchasing another one for my younger son!Thank you for a great product!!!

Flashlight came broken and had no instructions on how to operate. The rest is nice, though. Hats are very good quality and have been used nearly daily.

I ordered the set for my grandson's second birthday, which is coming up next month. His mom had it on a wish list and reviews were good. The items are very cute, kid sized and were packaged well. Since the gift hasn't been given yet, I can't say how long the items will hold up over time. There are three small children in the household so hopefully my grandson and his three year old sister can share the toys and enjoy them without breaking them immediately. They seem to be decently made but kids at these ages are usually hard on toys. It makes a cute gift regardless, and multiple pieces makes it interesting. With a bit of supervision during use, I'm hopeful they will be able to enjoy the set for a good while. This item got better reviews than similar products I looked at. I'm satisfied with my purchase.
