THE BEST FLASHLIGHT I'VE EVER OWNED!!! They thought of everything and added it in a small package.
I have a small museum's worth of flashlights that I have collected over the years. Most still work! But, none of them offer all of the options, benefits and brightness that this RovyVon does, especially for the size. Let me count the ways: PROS: 1) Really small and easy to fit in pocket, purse, work bag, backpack, etc. About the size of your pinky finger. 2) Rechargeable (USB C) 3) Pocket/hat visor clip (Removable) 4) 2 powerful magnets (on the tale end and on the clip) (Removable) 5) Push and Hold - Super bright flashlight 6) Push twice: Flashlight - 4 bright settings (super bright, bright, medium, and very low) (click once to change) * Note: if you leave the flashlight on at one brightness level for 3 minutes it will turn on to that level next time. 7) Push three times: UV light or bright red/blinking red safety light (click once to change) 8) Push four times: Side "lantern" light (medium & bright) (click once to change) 9) Low battery indicator (red light on side when operating) 10) Charging indicator (breathing blue light) 11) Fully charged indicator (green light) 12) Also comes with a key ring 13) Really good battery life between charges 14) Comes in several models with different options (UV/red safety light or blue/red "police" party light or different color temperatures) CONS: Uh..... maybe, don't look directly into the light. Otherwise, PERFECT! A lot of punch for the price. Very much worth it!

Best EDC flashlight out there!
Very bright, usb-c rechargeable, and tons of utility. I didn't think the UV light would be useful, but it's fantastic especially for pet owners! Red blinking light is great for riding bikes. Weighs practically nothing and small enough to fit on a keychain or in a coin pocket. I find the side lights to be just as useful if not even more useful than the main light for reading or walking around the house without having to turn on the lights and waking others up. Sidelight is similar to using your iphone light vs a flashlight. Magnets are super handy for handsfree lighting. 5000k is high CRI and easy on the eyes.

Amazing.
This is a wonderful little light design. I love the brightness levels and I love the red and black lights. It's so light that I where it on my watch band as EDC. The battery is really good for it's size.

Love the flashlight, admire the company
I now have the A8 4G and this light is one of two flashlights that make up my daily carry. I use it most for the moonlight and UV lights. The moonlight mode is perfect for most things I do daily trying to preserve my night vision and still see in the dark. The UV is also well suited for scorpion detection as I live where they live. I also use the red light quite often. It was quite useful on a boat trip in the sleeping quarters as the magnetic end allowed the light to be attached to the overhead, giving the entire compartment a usable red glow. I do find that the red light is a bit bright for smaller tasks and use the moonlight mode instead. As for the brightest mode, it really puts out a lot of light, although for a short distance as expected for a small pocket/keychain light. As for the company, RovyVon is first rate. This is my third light by them, the first an A1 is going strong and other than a lost dust cover has been a great light. The second was an A8 3G. This light lost its function button leaving the case open and unusable without a tool to push the tiny button on the PCB. I contacted RovyVon and in less than two days of communicating (time delay because of time zones was expected) with only two emails going in each direction the issues was resolved. I had the fix in my hand in less than a week. It took me much longer to get a SureFire issue resolved and they are only one time zone away. I find that the quality to cost of the RovyVon flashlights better than most of their competitors. Their customer service though, will make them the first company I look to for my next light purchase.

The most important feature of this flashlight
There is little doubt that this Rovyvon flashlight is a remarkable piece of technology. The combination of design and function is impeccable. The features of the flashlight are a perfect combination for every day carry purposes and the quality of construction ensures that the flashlight will work flawlessly when needed. You can feel the quality in your hand and see the quality in the performance of the device. There is, however, a feature that is not readily apparent even upon close examination of the flashlight and this particular feature is the most important feature that distinguishes this flashlight from all the participants in a diverse and highly competitive marketplace. The feature is customer service. I have been buying Rovyvon flashlights for several years now and many friends and members of my family now use the flashlight after trusting my reccomendation or accepting my gift. I recently had my first problem with a flashlight; the model associated with this review. The problem was a small crack in the polycarbonate case near the UI button. I sent an email to the customer service department and explained that I was not aware of any time that I had placed the device in harms way, but acknowledged that I could not claim with certainty that I was not the cause of the crack on a heavily used tool that was with me constantly. I took several photos for the company representative to review. I took time with the lighting of the photos to provide quality information to the company. I was motivated by a consistent pattern that I had seen in the companies product development pattern. When customers commented on the need for a longer low light or moonlight feature, the company responded. When customers commented on the need to replace micro USB with a C connection, the company responded. In addition, the battery capacity increased, the charging port seal was improved and the clip became more robust and was magnetic. In short, the companies product was evolving in response to client comments and needs. If Rovyvon was willing to put that level of effort into product development, I was willing to take all the time needed to provide quality information to a responsive company. I quickly received a courteous and professional response. My information was reviewed and the customer service response was thoughtful and fair. I look forward to future products from Rovyvon and thank the company for setting such a high standard for their business practices. This is the way business should be conducted. I wish this company much success in their future endeavors.

Which RovyVon Aurora is best? Six compared
I first started using LED flashlights nearly 15 years ago when the technology was new, have since acquired a diverse and coveted collection. Now, as prices have come way down and the LED technology has matured, stunning lights like the Aurora series can be had found with features that used to be reserved only for $100+ torches. If you are already here, you likely know that RovyVon’s small A series lights are terrific. However, the differences between models may be mystifying at first. Let’s break down any confusion. We’ll talk about common features, differences, and what I recommend: WHAT KEY FEATURES DO ALL OF THE ROVYVON AURORA’S SHARE? BATTERY: A couple of years ago, RovyVon upgraded to a longer lasting 330mAH battery. Thus, almost all models currently available have it. Look for the round on/off switch and not the older vertical design. MEMORY FOR YOUR FAVORITE INTENSITY SETTING: Let’s clear up any confusion. Double click to turn on the light. Then click through to find your desired default intensity. Leave on for three minutes. Turn off light. Viola! It’s set. Note that the highest lumens intensity is extraordinary for a torch of this size but can only be obtained by keeping your finger down on the button. For good reason this blindingly bright setting can only be used for 30 seconds and not preset. SIDELIGHTS: This is a unique and cool RovyVon feature. The lights will come on with a triple click. Click again to cycle through brightness, blinking, etc. These lights come on just below the on/off switch and if unaware can be really a shock to the eyes. Keep your finger over them as you naturally would when typically turning on the flashlight. Depending on model, your third sidelight setting will either be a UV feature to make the light really glow beautifully in in the dark for many hours, or a red light version. However, here’s what I’ve learned re the UV advantages: On almost all of the A series models, UV won’t do any counterfeit bill or crime detection. If you need that get the A8UV. However, despite the similar physical look of this model you will give up the glow (GITD) ability. The red color in some models is more useful than I’d figured and can be used blinking, or not. The other models with UV instead of red do make the glow more quickly intense. However, you do not need this feature at all to ensure your light will glow beautifully, either short term or overnight. LUMENS: Plenty! Don’t worry about the numbers. All are exceedingly bright, whether the emitter is cooler XP-G3 CREE or warmer NICHIA 219. What’s most important to so-called pros like me is the lowest low setting, also referred to as “firefly” or “moonlight.” All current models will go down to either 2 or 3 lumens. The difference between 2 and 3 is not noticeable in real world use. That’s not as low as you’d think in the middle of the night. (More about this later.) DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MODELS: Very little indeed. At the time of this review, the $27 versions with GITD can still be found in either Nichia with red sidelight option, or Cree without the red sidelights. A tremendous value! (As is $38 for lights of this caliber.) A5 or A5X: Great! These can be found as low as $27 when the pricing is best. Same model, whether marketed as “X “or not. A8UV or A8U: Again, same light. This is the one that DOES NOT GLOW. But it has genuine UV counterfeit detection. The other models marked U or UV do not. A7X: It glows blue instead of green. Keep in mind blue looks cool but is not quite as bright. NICHIA OR NOT? With most having a free returns policy, you may want to pick up both the Cree and Nichia versions of the light you are interested in, if offered. As a pro photog, I like warmer tones yet these are not necessarily more accurate. You do get more perceived contrast with Nichia. And, again, in real world use don’t be dissuaded by 450 lumens vs. 650. That means little as you actually use your torch. I love these little gems so much I own both Nichia and Cree versions. DO YOU NEED A FLASHLIGHT THAT WILL “TAILSTAND” ? This is an area of needed improvement. You can technically get these to tail stand so they work like a candle. However, not with the clip on, and not easily. I’m planning to glue a small round magnetized disc on the bottom so my Aurora’s will now easily stand up. The Auroras are unusual in having the sidelights, so they can work like a lamp with the light oriented face down, but not at the lowest moonlight setting I covet late night. IS THE “LOW” AT 2-3 LUMENS LOW ENOUGH? No. I hope the good folks at RovyVon will adjust this down to .5 lumens like several competing brands like OLIGHT and EAGTAC. Is it a deal killer? Not for most people. But in the middle of the night 2-3 lumens actually is jarringly bright. Perfect is .5 lumens. Fingers crossed for an Aurora improvement to make a near perfect light even better. SHOULD YOU BUY ONE? Absolutely! These are the greatest and I feel this A5 model is the best of all. I highly recommend this series of flashlight.Much tinier than you may expect and truly just a bit bigger than a AA battery. All recent models fully charge in 90 minutes. All are profoundly excellent for the money with a better than average two year warranty, too. If this is your first LED flashlight prepare to be blown away by the brightness .If you are like many torch-heads like me, your RovyVon become a bright new “gateway drug” to starting an awesome new flashlight collecting hobby.

Flawed but Amazing Swiss Army Knife Flashlight
I bought the 219c/High CRI version, and am absolutely smitten. The brightness and beam pattern are great for daily use, the light color and quality are very pleasant, the warm side light is super useful and the UV light works very well (it's actually 365nm from what I can tell and not one of those cheap purple LEDs that isn't actually much into the ultraviolet part of the spectrum). The clip is easy to attach and detach, but still stays in place sturdily. The magnets are more than strong enough on both the clip and the tail to hold the light in place, and the button is super recessed and doesn't seem prone to accidental activation at all. The charging indicator is very clear and easy to understand what is going on, and the light charges with a C-C cable. All of the side lights, and low mode on the main light work while charging, which I find bright enough for most up close tasks. And lastly, the size is incredible!! I can't believe how small this thing is despite the capability! Low mode on both the main and side white LEDs are bright enough to work in the dark, and they stay on for hours and hours! Incredible. However, there are some rather annoying flaws. The battery isn't removable, and even with soldering skills I am not sure where one would find a replacement pouch, or how to open the light without destructive means. I understand that the light really couldn't be this small AND have a replaceable battery, so I will give it a pass here. The red light is very bright, and you cannot change the brightness. Its so bright it is almost useless. I really wish that instead of different flashing settings, it had different brightness levels, as I would have liked to use this as a dim red light for nighttime in a dark room. The WORST part of this light, though, and the reason I am docking a star, is the god awful UI. The decisions to make it so that one click from off does nothing to prevent accidental activation, and hold for momentary high, are good ones, but they are the ONLY good ones, and everything else is a mess. Hold for off is a massive mistake, and clicking to change bright brightness or mode should be switched to hold. These would be very easy to switch. There is no way to access moonlight from off, and the only way to access it is to cycle through HIGH, which is NOT something you want in a situation where you need moonlight, so moonlight on this light is effectively useless, unless you make that the default mode memory brightness, which is not practical. Oh, and speaking of mode memory, it is a DISASTER. To change the memorized mode, you have to wait 3 minutes in that brightness. This presents several problems... Firstly, if you want to set the memory to medium or high, you have to wait for 3 minutes in that brightness, which will take a chunk out of your battery (and heat the light up considerably). Second, if you end up using the light in a different brightness than the one you want memorized for too long, the memorized brightness changes against your will, and you then have to spend 3 minutes changing it back to the brightness you wanted it to be. This is the worst execution of mode memory I have ever seen, and Rovyvon really should reconsider how they handle this. If I could change the UI of this light, I would do so as follows. Hold from off: moonlight (MOST lights do this) Click then click and hold: momentary high (common) Click while on any mode: Off. (Nearly ALL lights do this) Hold while on: change mode/brightness (MOST lights do this) Double (or triple, quadruple...) click while on: save current brightness as memorized If I overlook the dumpster fire of a UI (which you could probably get used to if this is your only flashlight, but not if you have more lights!), I think this is an amazing keychain flashlight, and I love carrying it around with me.

Great buy! Quality that can be felt.
Great flashlight. I bought several more to give away as gifts. Love them! Very powerful and bright for its small size, perfect to keep in my pocket, especially when camping.
