Performance Cold Air Intake Piping Kit for 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6 Black & Red

This one looked identical to the Rough Country cold air intake, but cheaper. Zero instructions, but I went to the Rough Country site and downloaded theirs. Once you know how it assembles and how to install it, it's pretty straight forward. The temperature sensor on the intake is tough to install. I put the rubber O-Ring on the sensor first, then installed both on the intake. Be careful not to damage your sensor. I also added some rubber on the bottom portion, so it did not cut the hose down there. I don't expect much, if any, performance gains, just looking to clean up my engine bay. UPDATE: After driving a few days with this installed I have made the following observations: 1) The engine is much throatier/louder. Likely because the Helmholtz resonator is removed on the aftermarket intake. If you are looking for more of a growl out of your engine, this will provide it. I am not really thrilled about the new noise it makes especially when it does nothing for performance. Basically, more bark and no bite. 2) My mileage got worse. I was averaging 16 to 17 MPG on my 2017 4 door 3.6L JKU, but now I am getting a solid 15 mph. I did not expect that. 3) I wasn't expecting any real power gains, and I was not disappointed. No real power increase. I am going to keep in on for a week or so, but I will likely remove it in the future. It looks nicer in my engine bay, but I was also hoping that it would make it easier to work on my 3.6L. Access to the front is slightly better, but not a lot. It also is harder to remove than the stock intake, so technically this is not doing what I wanted it to do for me.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I can’t say how glad I am to have installed this on my 2015 JK. I could feel how much better acceleration was. Throttle response made it all worth it! Has a nice growl too. I think it definitely gave it a few more horses in power. Although no instructions came in the box., if you have mechanical aptitude you can understand how to assemble it. There is a few videos to watch on YouTube if you need help on installing this. I’m impressed and pleased with this intake. It’s worth it! It’s good! You won’t regret buying this. Make the improvement you won’t be disappointed.

Install was smooth. Kinda challenging with no instructions but figured it out soon enough. Has good sound! And I have noticed a slight increase in throttle response. No major change in fuel mileage. I am running 4.88 gears on 35’s so that may also make a difference over stock gearing for power gains as well.

Pros: Upped my mpg by 2.5 (also installed a throttle body spacer) Sound at around 3000rpms is fantastic Easy install Looks great Cons: No instructions - look up rough country CAI Had to purchase a couple of minor items (screws) I would give it a 4.5 but might as well up it 5. Assemble the box ahead of time to cut install time down. In about 30mins I had it installed and after doing a 10+ hour road trip I was pleased to see the performance and gas efficiency increase.

Purchased this for my 16 Jeep wrangler 3.6. Perfect fit and it is exactly the same as the rough country but half the price.

Makes the engine sound good and throaty at higher RPMS, gas mileage is worse but horsepower has increased
