Dorman603-116 Front Engine Coolant Reservoir Compatible with Select Chevrolet / Pontiac Models

Indistinguishable from the original - except that the battery tray isn't broken, and the printing on the fill cap, which was smudged, but just wiped off anyway. It shouldn't be hard to make a tampo-printed cap that uses a paint that will survive transportation, and preferably a few years under the hood. Not that my car is going to win any concours awards, but I like to keep it looking factory. Didn't include the grommet for the dip tube, but that's easily recovered from the old one by sawing the reservoir in half.

Perfect replacement for battery tray that was broken. Wish this came with the rubber grommet though. I couldn't easily remove the one from the old unit. I ended having to cut the tank off, put a hose clamp over the base of the grommet and screwing the clamp down to compress the grommet so I could then pop it out of the old tank. Not sure how others got that out of the old tank.Update: 12-4-18: About a week after installing this I got a service engine light. I bought a code reader and it's an evap test failure/leak. I have replaced some other parts and used some gasket seal around the rubber grommet but still continue to get the service engine light with the Evap leak failure. I'm beginning to suspect this unit is defective and may have no choice but to replace it to see if that is true or not. May not be coincidence that I got the Evap error right after replacing this unit.

I bought this for you replace the one I had in my 1997 Pontiac Firebird. The product looks sturdy enough.One thing that did not come with the reservoir is a grommet where the the return line feeds back into the reservoir. Either way, it is a good value for the price.

This worked wonderfully as a replacement for the OEM. Fit was perfect and held battery down which the old one didn't. You don't want your battery slopping around all over the place and it isn't good when it does so buy this. F-body owners know that most originals are now broken, take my word, this made the Camaro like new again when it came to holding that battery down! Great buy, Great Value.

Well priced, easily installed, and a perfect fit. I had to cut open the old tank to push out the rubber overflow tube grommet, so it would be nice if it had come with that. Either way, though, a solid buy.

Fits perfectly as the oem. To the get the original grommet out, clean the area well with soap and a tooth brush. It will well help loosen the crud. A little bit of silicone grease made it easier to install. Careful when dropping the battery back in, it will break the tab off. It is what happen with the oem one when it was being replaced.
