Does it work for 2nd generation?

Yes, I have a 2nd generation Ring doorbell. It comes with extra padding that you can remove if not needed. I only need two of the four pieces of padding so its secure.

Will this work with aosu doorbell?

No idea I only used my Ring doorbell w/ thru the door eye hole. That did not work

Does this protect from rain as well?

Yes! It’s been very stormy out here and it has great coverage

Was the 2020 release mounting bracket (with 4 screws) and magnate button used in the assembly? So what is holding the unit together?

There is one screw on the top and one on the bottom securing it stay together
