Works well and much quieter than the old motor.The motor shaft was slightly shorter so be sure you position the fan on the shaft so there is enough clearance between the motor casing and fan.The motor threads are the same size as the old motor's, #8-32. My Carrier had specialty oversized nuts but one was unusable after removing the old motor. I used a fender washer and nylon lock nut in place of it.

This was a drop-in replacement for the condenser fan motor for a 34 year old Carrier system that’s still alive and kicking. An HVAC company would have charged me $500 or more to do this and I swapped it myself for $117 and about an hour of my time.It’s not a hard job. Just be slow and careful as you take apart the unit. Remember to take pictures of the wiring before you pull the old motor.As others have noted, the output shaft is a little shorter than the original, so be careful when attaching the old fan blades. They come very close to hitting the motor casing but they did miss. Also, the wires could have been a LITTLE longer. I got it to work but had zero slack in the wires.Overall, I’m a happy guy. For $117 I bought this old R-22 system a little more time before I have to replace it.

This motor's part number was identical to the old motor. I was still nervous that the new motor would somehow be different. Nope. Wire for wire and screw for screw, it was the same. Electrically and mechanically it was the perfect replacement for the old motor, which had seized up after 30 years of moderate use. I've been using the new motor for about a month now and it has been flawless.

Exact replacement for our old AC unit, easy swap for someone mechanically inclined. Very happy.
