10 Little Hot Dogs Hardcover – November 1, 2010

10 Little Hot Dogs by John Himmelman is an adorable book featuring a pack of mischievous Dachshunds. The story begins with one lonely Dachshund in search of a playmate. One by one, more playful pups fill the comfy armchair. Will the rambunctious bunch be able to get along and share the chair?I absolutely love the illustrations! Each Dachshund has a personality all its own. I can totally relate to the Dachshunds’ silly antics. I own a mini double dapple Dachshund that was born without eyes and is completely deaf. She acts just the doxies in the book!This is a wonderful story for the emergent reader that teaches counting in an easily accessible manner. Children will fall in love with the Dachshund characters and will enjoy counting them throughout the book.

This is the cutest little book! I read it to my 2 year old and she loves how the doggies are interacting with each other and the recliner. From a prior hot dog owner...the story is pretty accurate in their quirky behavior. :) The added bonus is their counting up and down to 10. My only complaint is that it is a paperback book. Convenient, but I just always like a hard cover or board book option. Especially for kids books.

My toddler is hilariously entertained by this story line and drawings.... in my mind bedtime storytime is less comical but with this one she is up, jumping, laughing and trying to imitate each little funny puppy drawn!!!!I’ll be purchasing this when my sister has her baby... this is a keeper!!!! All doxie fans need to buy this.

This is my grandsons favorite book. I have it on digital and he reads it to me when he is here. Bought the hardcopy for his birthday and can't wait to see his face when he opens it.

Bought as a gift. I read it and it's very cute. I feel it will help teach kids to count because it goes 1-10 counting things the 'Little Hot Dogs' do.

My 3 year old great nephew LOVES this book and it's so cute when he "reads" it to me - very easy for the kids to count the "hot dogs" and look at the pictures and "read" the story! It's fun for him to read! Love it!

I gave this to a friend with 2 "little hot dogs" for her birthday. We laughed, it is so real and fun. A book for both children and adults.

I love this counting story! I love dachshunds and this story is wonderful! I love having it in my bookcase and reading it to my grandkids.
