Love the art, it's gorgeous in every way. Story is also good but an easy read. Good summer read. A+

The story is great, the printing is beautiful and the art style is great. If you're into roller derby or thinking about the sport or you just like graphic novels, i can not recommend this one enough!

A mix of sports comic and friendship drama with a romance subplot. It gives some info on the roller derby sport and the romance had some cute/funny bits without getting hot and bothered, but the friendship was the main highlight for me. Two opposites meet and find their passion in the sport and bond; however, drafted to different teams, a rift starts to form.

I was a derby player for years, and I feel like I’m reading my life. Must read for anyone in the derby community or anyone curious about it.

Awesome art work, love the detailed backgrounds. And a great story about friendship and a sport that unfortunately, rarely gets write about. Highly recommend!

SLAM! Is really fun and I loved reading it! It's one of the few roller derby comics out there. Really great to read about derby!!

I liked how the graphic novel flows and the images are so vivid. I wish the explanation of how roller derby works came earlier in the story. I'm sure someone who already knows and loves roller derby would love this, it was just confusing for an outsider who wanted more.

Total fun - like the comedy/drama "Glow" on Netflix, about a short-lived 1980's women's pro-wrestling TV series, as a comic book. The characterization drives the piece; you will like these girls. The new, seldom-scene arena, roller-derbie, makes it immediately interesting, and the series is drawn well.

Great characters. Fab art. I know nothing about roller derby but this entertained me muchly. High recommend and can't wait for the next trade.

Estupendo cómic. Llegó a tiempo para un regalo. Sería genial una edición en Castellano. Recomiendo a los que no conocen el Deporte así como a las que ya lo practicamos, te ves identificada.

I bought two copies of this book, one for myself and one for my daughter (a junior derby girl). We both loved it. The artwork is beautiful and the story is great and relatable, if only a bit light in plot depth. Can't wait for volume 2!

The artwork is wonderful! Bright and bold, and it really captures the different characters personalities. The story is strong and interesting, with good dialogue. The characters feel realistic, they are well fleshed out with distinct personalities that show through in the way they speak and act. But for me, the story just moved a little bit too fast. A lot of things were skipped over that would have made me feel more involved. I wanted to see more of the training, and things like one of the characters first date with a new man - he just appears once and then suddenly she really likes him. I wanted to understand why! So really my complaint is that I want more! I recommend to anyone that likes roller derby, stories about women in sport, or stories about friendships between women.
