Being Me (Rookie Ready to Learn)

This has a great lesson to the story besides being a good book for the K-1st grade level (maybe higher). I enjoyed explaining the book to my 5 year old and then discussing it after we read it. A new favorite!

I hadn't read the book before. I bought it because it was an easy reader for my first graders. The girl in the story is deaf. I didn't know that ahead of time but LOVE it! I am a teacher of the deaf and teaching kids about deafness is dear to my heart. The book is great...would buy it again.

Julie is a local weather woman here where we live. She is a beautiful woman and caring mother too. When we saw that Julie wrote this, we immediatly ran out and bought it. It is a wonderful read for our son who is 5 years old. He asks to read this once a week at the least since we bought it.Julie is AWESOME! Thanks for writing this one, hope more to come...
