Great Shelter from the Sun for Families
I used this twice over Labor Day weekend at the Delaware shore. It worked like a dream. I love it.Set up was super simple: Remove from bag, pull cords, tie off cords, fill bags with sand, done.Just for fun, I used the included stakes and staked the tent down, but it was unnecessary. I don't know the wind speed, but it was normal breezy beach day, and the tent was not going to fly away with the three bags of sand filled. I was impressed that the sand bags are reversible, making them super easy to empty; and they're right on the seam at sand level, so filling is also a snap. The tent provided plenty of room for my wife, me and our bags. It also fit our toddler when he was eating lunch. The amount of shade provided depends mostly on where the sun is relative to the orientation of the awning; if you're willing to turn the tent to put the sun at your back, there's lost of shade. My only complaint is the lack of screens in the windows. I don't know why I want them, but I do. The windows have sturdy zippers and toggles to hold them secure when unzipped and rolled-up. We closed the windows on the sunny side almost completely, and left the shady side completely open. The ventilation was adequate on 80+ degree days, but you lose some of the cooling effect of the breeze, because letting the breeze in also lets the sun in -- and the whole point of this tent, in my mind, is UPF protection. The ground sheet is permanently attached to the tent. I appreciate this, because it simplifies setup and storage, but people who want to sit directly on the sand while underneath the tent should look elsewhere. The ground cover does NOT extent under the awning, so you can sit in the shade of the tent and be directly on the sand, if that matters to you.Taking the tent down is also super simple. You just press down on two of the poles where they join the hub at the top of the tent, and the whole thing collapses. Then it's just a matter of getting the fabric smoothed out and rolled up so it fits into the storage sleeve. The storage sleeve has a shoulder strap and drawstring closure; it worked well.

Great tent for babies at the beach
We used this on a recent beach trip with our 13 month old who has very sensitive skin. It was great. It is light to carry and easy to set up and take down, even for me at 5'5". It does get warm inside with the window flaps zipped closed, so we were very happy that we purchased this model, which allows us to open the flaps incrementally and control how much airflow vs. sunlight we allow in to the tent. (If you had a model without flaps, or if the flaps had velcro tab closures that only allowed the windows to be either fully open or fully closed, you would not have this level of flexibility.) We also appreciated having the canopy that extends slightly beyond the footprint of the tent, so that a small area of sand in front of the tent was also shaded for playing. There is a small mesh pocket attached high up on the inside wall that is great for stashing keys or other small items that might get misplaced while on the beach. My only frustration with the tent is with the belt for holding the tent closed in order to slide in into the carrying bag. (It has a belt much like the one on an umbrella to hold it closed when collapsed.) The belt is completely unattached. If it were attached to the tent on one end, the way that umbrella belts are, it would be much easier to use and keep track of.

Light, portable and easy to put up and tear down!
I read a lot of reviews good and bad so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but what I can tell you is that it is light, lighter then my standard beach chair with attached umbrella.I like that is comes with a carrying case with the instructions attached, but those are the things I also don't like about it, the carrying case is flimsy and seems cheap and going to use another one I have that is more durable. I also like the instructions but it gets in the way and is so large, but a nice to have, I read the instructions for opening and closing, trust me, read them it will save you lots of time.I timed myself twice putting it up after reading the instructions and it took less then 35 seconds to take out of case and pop it up, simplest setup ever! Granted did not put stakes in or fill the bags with sand.I timed myself twice again for taking down and putting back in the case and it took less then 1 min 40 seconds!I haven't taken to the beach yet which that is what I bought it for, so I am sure my times for setup and tear down will be longer.I did open up the windows and tied them up cause I don't want to use while they are closed and wanted to see if it interfered with putting away and for wind sake - while at the beach having the windows unzipped and opening caused issues, the poles got stuck in the window and was a big mess trying to open. I highly recommend you close the windows before closing. The material does seem to feel cheap or thin, but usage and time will tell if it holds up.Another reason why I bought this was so that I can have shade quickly and easily without having to carry and put up a standard beach umbrella or a chair umbrella attachment that you have to constantly adjust.I took to the beach, didn't put the ancors down or fill the bags with sand, had the windows open and put my bag in to hold down too - this worked fine, but if its windy should put the stakes down.I assume it's a good buy for ease of use and portability. I hope this help anyone looking for the same reasons as me!
