Which switch?
Decided to switch, switches and this switch was the perfect switch to switch with, so glad we switched to this switch, won't be switching back(and it switches on and switches off without any problems)

A very nice Schneider light switch.
A lovely, well made switch from Schneider. For those not in the electrics industry, Schneider have a very good reputation, for solid reliable equipment. This is technically an intermediate switch with 4 terminals on the back. However, I bought it to just use as a straight forward, 1 gang, 1 way lighting switch with a switched line at the back box.To do this, you use the top 2 terminals, labelled COM and L1. It doesn't matter into which terminal you put either cable. It will work the same, both ways.It does come with a useful instruction sheet, for all of the Schneider Lisse range, which has diagrams on how to wire up, for different uses, such as 2 way switching etc.As ever, when it comes to electrics, if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing, than get someone in who is.If you have a neutral in your back box, you don't need it for this, so leave it unconnected (but hopefully, sealed off).As this is a metal switch plate, it does need a CPC ( earth) connection. This should be connected to the single brass terminal on the back of the switch. If you do not have a protective earth on your lighting circuit, then you must not fit metal switch plates.Fitting itself is very easy. Just pop the front off to reveal the plastic face plate. (I used a small flathead screwdriver to lever it off). Then connect up as required, (it says TOP on the front, to stop any confusion). It comes with standard fit 3.5mm screws to secure to your back box, but, they are rather short (18mm), so you may find you need to use your existing screws. Then, once fitted just push the face plate back on, for a lovely smooth, neat finish. The switch is 85mm square in size, as many modern ones are. This is slightly smaller than the older style, and as can be seen in the photo, it can show your painting up if you painted after fitting switches. In use, it has a very nice, satisfying 'click', and as previously mentioned, with its flush, screw less finish, looks very modern and smart.I am happy to recommend this switch. Yes, it is a little more expensive than many, but it does have the quality that I expect from Schneider, and should last many many years.I hope you found this review helpful.

Don't recommend these
I have spent nearly £200 on several electrical fittings for my kitchen/diner remodel .One 2 gang light switch had a stiff switch on one side.Nearly all stainless brushed face plates had blemishes on radius corners under the lacquer finish. So disappointed with Amazon on this occasion. To send them back would be no guarantee i will receive better in return. So had to fit the worse sockets in places the blemishes for harder to see.I could never recommend this brand, so annoyed with Amazon.

Good quality.
There's nothing flimsy about this switch. The internals had a low profile and the terminals were very well spaced, meaning that wiring was easy, and wires were not crushed in the back box.Taking the decorative cover off was a little worrying. I saw no instructions, so resorted to prying off with a knife. Given this was an aluminium (or similar plastic) cover, I was really worried about scratching, breaking or bending. It turns out this is the correct approach.I would have preferred instruction showing/confirming this approach, or having is supplied with the cover off, or only partially attached.

Look and feel nice as long as your walls are true!
Look and feel nice as long as your walls are true!I had an issue with nearly all my single switches, 2 gang switches and sockets. If you screw the rear plastic cover tight to the wall and the wall isn't true, then the rear plastic plate will bend slightly making it impossible to secure the snap on front plate. You have to loosen up the rear plastic plate so it straightens slightly making it possibly to then snap on the front plate. I just about got away with it, but if I had to loosen them any more then they would have looked rubbish and also moved.
