They came vacuum sealed. So I gave it a chance. I stretched them and let them expand fully. After all it’s still very poor quality filter foam. I have purchased MUCH better quality foams for less money.I DO NOT recommend these. Maybe if you are going to cut them up and double or triple each layer, you might get decent filtration. But to get good filtration (not close to excellent) you’d need at least 6 layers of this poor quality foam.

they come shipped airtight in package. instructions say to soak in water to help them expand into original shape. a couple of them wouldn't expand. the rest worked fine

The measurements say 17x11 but since it is vacuum sealed it is super small. Look at the picture for the before and after.

Very good filtering for my pond

I previously ordered AQUANEAT Aquarium Bio Sponge Foam Filter Media Pad.This is NOT the same. Quality is unacceptable.Would have returned, except packaging was destroyed to open it.I recommend the above-referenced product instead.

This product was smaller than expected so I had to double up on the filters. Guess it’s a good thing I purchased the 9 count not the three as I would have returned it. The online photos look a little thicker and better quality, this product is pretty thin.

I recieved this product with high hopes. Upon receipt it is sealed together very tightly in a vacuum sealed bag. okay...upon opening, the ripples of the wave had been damaged by the vacuum seal and would not "fluff" back up,The cuts are also not to expectation. They are much smaller than 11x17. I have attached a photo with the measuring tape and a true 11x17x1 inch pad.The material is cheap and does not condense together the way a "fine" foam filter media should allowing all kinds of light throughThis product is not going to do the job to filter the water appropriately
