Much Better Than I Expected
I almost didn't purchase it, because there aren't many reviews and the few that I've read are only fair. For my three gallon brackish bowl, I decided to take a chance on it. I am not the least bit disappointed. Based on reviews, I thought I would have to have it on something like 14 hours and at full intensity, but I was growing way more algae than I needed. I put it at the lowest intensity, and decided even then, that 12 hours was way too long to have it on. I currently have it on for 10 hours and may raise it higher than 4" above the water. My complains: At $129.00, the gooseneck (which has cheap plastic screws, that I'll probably replace with real ones from Home Depot) should've been included. There is no shimmer that I've noticed. Being that I keep it at the lowest intensity and the color set at yellow, I don't see a point to the Spectral Controller when a regular timer works just fine.

Lights are fanless and completely quiet (compared to the Kessil A160's fan, which is audible across the room). You do need to buy 3 of these, to replace 1 Kessil A160, so it's not very economical in that respect. But reducing room noise was a priority for me, so the extra money was well spent.

Tuna Sun is a freshwater light, not saltwater
Darrin Looysen video is misleading as this light, the Tuna Sun, is for freshwater. for saltwater there is a A80 Tuna Blue. the light works well positioned over low-mid light plants and with an aquarium having a water depth of 12 to 16 inches.

I like the form factor
This is my first Kessil product so I really have nothing else to compare it to. I like the form factor. I really wish I didn't have to purchase the goose neck but honestly It was my only option for mounting this thing. I have a mounted to a 7.5 gallon rimless tank with C02. So far my plants are growing but I did notice that they tend not to pearl when I use the gooseneck so instead I mounted the gooseneck to the table and the light sits about 2 inches from the waterline. For my application the gooseneck was basically useless.

Love this light
This is my 8 gallon tank, but realistically has no more than five gallons water in it. It's been up for almost 1 year. My corals are doing amazing. I leave the light on for 9 hours a day. The light has 2 knobs and is on a regular timer. So easy it's unbelievable. One of the best lights and tanks I've ever had.
