These really are all their cracked up to be, and a pleasant surprise! I've ordered so many different USB cords, priced low, and high, and seem to always be a let down, which sends me right back on my search. Some cords have been okay, some only last a short time, and some haven't worked at all. These USB-C cords are the best quality I've found so far, HANDS DOWN, and does fast charge my Samsung Galaxy 8+. These are pretty much the best value per cost of cord too, which makes them even better. I love that there are 5 different lengths, so they fit all of the needs we'll have. They are made very sturdy, and look high quality. I like the color coding for the different lengths. It has a really nice velcro strap that stays attached to the cord, so that you can keep the cords wrapped up when storing. It seems like there was a lot of thought put into the design, and construction. I was able to test each cord to make sure they worked, and to see if they measure up to our factory, Samsung cord that came with our device. The results are that, they do! READ THE RESULTS BELOW. TEST 1: Just to be clear, I waited for my phone to drop below 10%, so that it needed to be charged. I took a screenshot of these cords plugged into my Samsung plug to show the speed, and I also took a screenshot of my Samsung cord plugged into my Samsung plug to compare the quality of the charge, and the time it takes until fully charged. The results are, they all said "fast charging," with the same time until fully charged. (Pics posted below) TEST 2: Also, I have noticed that sometimes my phone doesn't fast charge if the plug isn't great, so I also tested these cords with a regular rock candy, blue plug. I also did this with my Samsung cord for reference. They had the same results, which was "charging." Neither cords said "fast charging" or "slow charging" in this regular plug, which is still good, because I have had many cords say "slow charging" in my Samsung plug, and this blue plug. The fact that these results were the exact same as my factory, Samsung cord is amazing, because that is hard to find. This makes me very happy with my purchase! (Pic posted below) I haven't had these long, so I will update after some time has passed, or if I have any problems. I do recommend this set over any other set I've bought thus far, and I think they are priced fairly too, which is even better! Now, I'm buying this set in the micro-USB size, too.

Color me impressed! These cables are definitely not your average cheap aftermarket chargers. I could tell before I even opened the package this was the real deal, the box felt so heavy to only contain charger cables.... That is because these are genuinely heavy duty! I haven't even had them for an hour yet but I was so impressed by the quality I felt compelled to come write a review. I will update this review if i have any issues, but my first impression is that these cables will last me quite some time. This 10ft cable is rocking my socks! I love the variety of sizes, it will be nice to have a shorter one for the car and a longer one for in the house. Id give them 10 stars if I could. I will definitely be buying more volutz cables in the future! *** EDIT *** 6 Months later, and these cables are all still going strong. These are the best charger cables I've ever had, I will definitely buy more from Volutz next time I need charger cables, you can't beat these for the price and quality!! ***** UPDATE**** It has been about 2 weeks shy of one year since I purchased these charger cables. They are all still working perfectly and show very little wear! Even the one my son uses (and he can wear out a charger faster than ANYONE) is still in pristine condition. These are definitely worth the money, you will not find a more reliable or durable charger than these! I bought the variety pack with all different lengths, and I have even found the perfect use for the 1 foot cable. I plug it into our portable speaker when I need to charge my phone, it's perfect. My favorite is definitely the 10ft cable however. We recently went on vacation and there was not a plug by my side of the bed... but no worry, because I had my 10 foot charger!! Love love LOVE these chargers! You will not regret buying them!

TL;DR: Buy these cables. You won't regret it! I bought this set of Volutz USB C cables and the similar set in Micro USB (those ones don't have gold plating, but all the length and color combos seem the same between the two sets) last November. These are the only cords I use anymore, including the ones that came with my various devices. I mostly use the USB C cables to charge my Samsung Galaxy S8, though I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones that require a USB C cable to charge as well. I haven't formally set up any sort of time comparison experiment between these cables and the ones that came with the devices or that I bought from other retailers, including the Verizon store, but it seems like they charge at about the same rate as my other cables do. Your charge times will likely vary depending on the wall plug that you use, so be aware of that! What these cables have going for them above all the others, however, is that they are obviously of a better build quality. They are nice and thick, which means that they aren't as likely to snap off near the ends where thinner, cheaper cables will. The braiding over the surface of the cords is also a nice touch, as it helps prevent tangling and encourages the cords to coil nicely for storage. The different colored tips are a nice touch as well, because it makes it easy to see which length I'm picking up if I have several in a pile together. I will say, however, that an indestructible cord does not exist, so even though these cables are pretty rugged, you can't wad them up and shove them into tight spaces and expect them to last. I only have a couple of gripes, and they have nothing to do with this set itself, but with product availability overall. First, I have noticed that in their other sets of USB C Equilibrium+ cables, the color of the tips isn't consistent with the colors in this set, which would make it a little tougher to tell the lengths apart if you've bought mixed sets of varying lengths. For example, the blue cord in this set is 10ft long, but they sell a 2-pack of 6ft Equilibrium+ cables where one is green and the other is blue. If they had kept it consistent, so that no matter what combination you bought the cables in, the 10ft was always blue, the 6ft was always green, and so forth, it would simplify matters greatly for their customers. Second, because these cables are so great, I've had one of them (my 10ft one, sadly) "mysteriously" vanish when I was using it at work. I would prefer to buy another 10ft cable alone instead of having to buy a whole new set, as I don't use the shorter cables as often, and I feel like it's a waste of money and resources to buy cables you aren't likely to use. In fact, I'd love to see Volutz put out a combo pack of 3 10ft cables, since that's a length that's difficult to find in high quality cables. But, none of that has anything to do with the quality and performance of this particular set, which is why I'm not taking any stars off of the review.

I review a lot of items and know that there are games sellers can play with getting reviews. It’s one reason why I am super critical of reviews and look for some signs that reviews may have been persuaded with free products. I initially chose these cables because it seemed like the one with the most legitimate reviews and that enticed me. I’ve dealt with some horrible cheap cords and in this case, there are cheaper options. However, again, I chose it because of a sense of legitimacy in what people wrote. I also promise to update my review after I’ve had the item for more than the month, I have had them. So far, the cords have been fine. I got two sets, one as a micro-usb and the other as a C. Charging times aren’t slowed down and match what I get with my initial Samsun equipment when using a plug adapter. None of the cords have shorted and stopped charging and all the cords that we received worked. One thing I really liked was that they come in different lengths, as well as Velcro on the cord to wrap up excess cord if it’s too much, or if you’re done using it. I do wish there was some color variation between the micro usb and the type C, as I have two sets and wish the colors could just tell me which was which, but that’s me just being wishful in my thinking and not a flaw in the cords. Overall, cheaper than a company and big box option, but a bit more than the cheapest ones out there. So far, I’ve been really happy with the purchase of these and again, I’ll update if anything goes askew.

These cables are great! Braided cables are hard to get away from once you have them, so when I got a phone with a usb-c charger, I absolutely hated the charge cord. Plastic just feels so cheap. Believe it or not, I have had the cables for only a week, and have already used each length at least once (even the 10ft!). These are absolutely wonderful, and I will be ordering more of these when I inevitably need more. The only thing I would change is the different colors of the 3.3 ft cords. The color difference took a second to recognize as them both being the same length. I would have just made them the same color, but I understand that they thought it would look cooler in the photo for the listing. It's still a great bundle.

UPDATE: Mar 2021 At this point, we have purchased 4 sets of these cables dating back to 2018 and as recently as 2020. I can no longer recommend the cables, but in fairness, I do not know what year the cable that caught fire was produced. While using my phone in bed in the middle of the night, the charger cable caught fire at the phone charging port. I've used this charger every night, same phone - Samsung, same wall plug for at least 2 years. There were no electric storms or surges outside at the time. It had been charging beside me on the bed for 5 hours, and I had been holding/using the phone for 20 minutes. The VERY scary thing is that I usually sleep with my phone beside me. Thank GOD I was holding the phone and my pinky was resting on the charger cable. I felt it immediately get bizarrely hot, then I smelled smoke and saw a small flame in the dark at the base of my phone. I removed the cord from my phone and the wall and ran it to a sink. Things happen. I get it. I'll have to process my "lessons learned" later. Like maybe: replace phone cables annually and keep fre extinguisher by head of bed. But for now, my takeaway is not to leave a charging phone on anything flammable. Especially next to your head in bed. I'm going to be purchasing silicon pads of some sort to lay on various bedside tables and desks. What if this had happened in a child's room....in the middle of the night. Terrifying!!!!! I guess this is what is meant on the news when I hear "the source of the blaze was an electrical fire." Again, simply terrifying. 2019: This is our 3rd set of these corders to order. They are so well made and stand up to the abuse our family throws at them. I never fear about the charging tip breaking off in the phone like I have some other chargers. The various lengths meet a variety of charging needs from cars, to wall chargers to charging bricks. We give these as gifts and to house guests who forgot their charger. I say "give" although they are often accidentally taken.... or left behind on our travels. We are so glad to be able to pop back onto Amazon to buy another set. They certainly aren't the least expensive charging cables, but I truly don't even look at other brands. These are high quality cables and it's not even worth risking the time/effort to try another brand.

****I initially left this review for the Volutz Micro-USB cable 5 pack, but being that I purchased these at the same time, and they are made by the same manufacter/seller, I chose to leave it here as well. **** We have a larger than average family, and we homeschool. Often times my kids are doing research/work on their tablets, but we go through charging cables constantly. They consistently short out. After much research, I found these and purchased them as stocking stuffers for Christmas. I also loved that they were color coded. (It keeps the bickering over who each cable belongs to, to a minimum. ) Although we aren't quite 2 months from gifting, I've been quite impressed with how they've held up. (We usually have issues within the first month!) But what spurred me to leave a review now, is something that occurred with one of the cords last night. My son fed it through the break between cushions on our reclining couch and plugged it in behind his seat. The cord ended up getting caught in the reclining mechanism, and by the time he was able to work it free you could see it had been severely "chewed up" where it had been caught. Upon further inspection, I was surprised to see it was only the outter layers that were damaged but the inner wires were still completely intact. Further testing via voltage meter proved that the cable still completely functioned. Needless to say I was quite impressed. For a fraction of the cost I've spent on mainstream name brand cables, these wires have stood up to a beating. (** Just a note- although this incident didn't cause damage to the inner wires themselves, I wouldn't recommend using without some sort of covering. I wrapped it with electrical tape and set it aside for back up use. )

This isn't my first time trying this companies product, so I feel like I owe them two reviews. One for the micro USB charging cable, and another for the type C cable. Both are the highest quality of chargers I have ever owned. These things are durable, and i mean durable. The micro USB charger had no problem being bent a whole lot. Especially at night when I'm laying on my back with my phone on my chest, and that charger is holding the weight of my phone on it. No problem. The fabric never tore, never exposed any wires. Never so much as left me waking up in the morning with a phone that didn't charge the night before. As soon as I upgraded my phone to a phone with a type C port, the original charger didn't fair too well over time. With I got the same quality of product as I had before back in 2017. This time, with a flashy velcro tab to help me keep the cord in a bundle when not in use!! Wonderful idea. 10 ft is way too long for my current situation, but I will definitely keep it because there were a few situations where the 10 ft long mirco USB came in handy, I just think the 6 ft cable is just right. As always, yes the cord does support fast charging and yes, it fits well with my case, just as before. There's really nothing negative to say about this product. If you're tired of going through chargers every 3-6 months, give this brand a try!

Franchement, la qualité est au top (pas d' arrachement ni de cisaillement ni de détérioration des micro usb depuis des années). prix pratiqués plus que corrects, colissage OK et délais de livraison Top. Je recommande plus que vivement ces articles / A refaire => OUI

They work well

I already bought and reviewed the micro-USB versions of these, but as my gear gets a bit more hi-tech I needed some USB-C, and didn't hesitate in getting these again. They were also in the Black Friday sale so got a bargain. I have now been using Volutz pretty consistently now for nearly 3 years so feel i can comment well on them. Firstly, the lengths and the colour coding means you can always find which is which quickly (once you train yourself a bit to recognise them). I use two permanently in my car, the blue 3m one manages the dashcam, the orange 1m on my phone when mounted on the dashboard, all plugged into the multi-plug adapter; I will be using the orange 1m USB C for my new phone. In my office I have the 2m, permanently anchored to a charger, a USB C yellow short and a micro USB yellow short in a multi-port on my PC and the others float about as spares as and when I need them. Firstly, wattage and length - there was some discussion about whether these could maintain wattage across long lengths, and this has been tested in other reviews - I can safely say I have had no issues whatsoever maintaining a consistent charge with these cables.These work as good as (probably better than) the cables supplied with the devices themselves. Secondly - connection. Again, no problems at all here - reassuring 'clunk' when attached means these stay anchored in and don't stray off or detach randomly. I have read reviews which indicate a 'fall-off' of connection after a few months, and I can't say I have especially noticed this. I have noticed (in respect to many different types of cable) that sometimes some cables work better than others, which I think can in part be attributed to the way the device's port adapts to different chargers plugged in over a long period (e.g. if your cable is fractionally wider it may stretch the port, so that other cables don't connect as well). I wouldn't say that these cables cause any problems. Thirdly - build. Very high quality cables, strong braiding, which stops cables bending/breaking, rubber connector housing stops fraying around the plug, Nice clear lightning-strike symbols for charging, colours are vibrant. These are attractive cables. As a long term tester, I have had two of the original batch fail through bending of the cable near the plug (i.e always at an angle) so now I ensure I keep the cables relatively straight. They are still usable but relegated to the spares box....but remember this is with some serious use over many years! I was really pleased I bought these, can't really recommend them enough. I haven't had any issues with melting/exploding cables but I would imagine than anything like this that is reported is usually down to problems with a small batch, rather than something endemic. I love them, and would cheerfully buy more!
