These lights are sensitive enough, and bright enough to be effective when it is very dark. I have bought 4 of them and plan to purchase 2 more. Can't comment on longevity. I have only used them for about 2 months. Make sure you don't put them across from each other, the second will not turn on.

I have lots of back yard wildlife. I was skeptical that a night light would scare them away, but the strobelight feature intrigued me, so I bought one and set up a trailcam to see how the critters would respond.Deer don't seem to mind it, but they can get used to anything. Where this really "shines" is raccoons and possums, two prodigious diggers that like to come in and ruin my gardens at night. I set it to strobe and my video caught two raccoons literally running away from it.It's set-and-forget - no battery charging needed with the solar cell. You can test it without removing it from the box by opening the front box panel and pushing the small button located on the UNDERSIDE of the solar light unit. Be careful not to damage the motion detector (the round black orb below the light on the front). A few customers say these arrived damaged. One of mine did too, so be sure it's working while you're still in the Prime return window.The motion detector doesn't work very well in daylight, so be sure to check it out at night when you first install it. I ordered a couple more after being satisfied with the first one.

Got this to supplement our outdoor lighting for nighttime parking maneuvers. It's a very bright light with a pretty wide angle, so does a great job lighting up the dark part of the driveway guests use to turn around in. Installation is as easy as pounding a stick into the ground, and it's been in place with no movement since.It's QUITE bright - in fact after installing it I thought it was a car headlight upon triggering it the next evening. Given the motion-activated nature and the fact that it doesn't stay lit for too long after the trigger is gone I imagine it'd be usable all night.No issues or complaints, it does the intended job very well.

The light is very easy to install - that is the only really good thing I can say. I had ordered 2 - 1 arrived damaged and I sent it back for a refund. I wish I had sent both back! But I already opened and installed the intact one - but I am very disappointed. The motion detection is significantly inferior to any other light I have purchased/used/seen at other people's houses. I have to be so close it before it goes on and that is not what I wanted. I have a long dirveway and wanted this to turn on as I approached while walking my dog or as a car pulled in - so that the area would be lit up but not all night long. It does turn on, but only when you are nright on top of it. As I said, wish I could return it.

The media could not be loaded. The Good Earth Solar LED Light Strobe is kind of a blind item - does it work? I don't know, I've never seen it in action. Well, finally I was able to capture video of it in strive mode.Look around the next day I found that there was a rabbit running around. We also get coyotes, foxes, mad some other critters that hang out in the open space behind our yard. So this helps keep them out. We have small dogs so this will help keep them safe.The strobe is bright. As far as set up, it's super easy. And so far it's withstood some crazy rain storms, wind and hot days.So far I'm pleased with it's performance.

A must in our home, so happy I found these finally...my puppy goes out to pp in the nighttime also and has been sprayed by skunks twice in 8 years, also lately there have been coyotes around the neighborhood...One of them works everytime, the other works when it feels like it...that's crazy...I bought both at the same time. They are easy to set up...I'm needing them NOW so I won't send back just yet the one that comes on when it feels like it...also is not as bright as the other also.
