One of the best charcoal products on the market. Thickness, smell, durability, and ease of lighting makes this a great value of money. ive cooked steaks, burgers, and tons of other meats on this a heats great.

I've been grilling for 48 years. This is the best slow cook charcoal I've ever used.Pros - There are some very large lumps in the bag. This last bag had sticks 6-8" long and 2" in diameter and chunks the size of softballs. These allow for slow even burn. I only had to tend the coals once an hour. There are a good mixture of medium and smaller pieces in there.This is the cleanest burning charcoal I've used. No smoke. It still get a nice pink ring. Sometimes I add a few apple or hickory chunks in there to add their flavor.Very little dust. Rarely sparks. Very little ash.Cons - The smaller pieces settle to the bottom of the bag. You need them in your charcoal chimney to light quick. I once put a big softball size piece in the bottom. The tumbleweed failed to light the chimney. I put some smaller pieces on the bottom and that softball in the middle of the chimney. Perfect! There are enough small and medium pieces near the top so finding them isn't an issue. When you get to the bottom large chunks are rare. Keep that in mind.If you touch the coals, your skin will turn black. It wipes of with a paper towel.

I’m so impressed with this charcoal. I usually buy Big Green Egg brand but have been dissatisfied with a small size of the coals and the black dust it leaves every time you use it. From the moment I open the bag, I noticed that all these pieces are larger and hold their shape very well. In fact, they burn much longer than other charcoal I have used. The only downside is I have to break down my camping grill the next morning because this charcoal will burn for hours. Also, it burns clean and does not affect the taste of the meat. I will definitely buy more in the future.

This was my first experience with lump charcoal and I was not sure what brand to try.I went with this Fogo SPHLC and am very impressed. It lights easy, burns even, goes out fast when I want it to and creates very little ash.Only negative was I got a few very large pieces which were harder to place.Can't think of a reason not to keep using this brand.

The first image on the left showing many smaller pieces is from a major brand think (small purple chicken)….its a yoke get it, but I distress. The other two images show just how large the majority of the bag contains. The bag was very consistent in size and quality throughout the bag. I read one reviewer’s comment talked about smaller pieces and lots of dust. I had only the slightest amount of dust particulate in my purchase. Literally, I am so impressed with the quality of this charcoal product. It will definitely be my go to brand in the future. Now with regard to the cooking, this was fast lighting and taste was excellent. This first use was for steaks, so the jury is out for long burning. I will update this review when I cook some whole ducks I’m planning on in the next week or so. Enjoy!

Based upon some positive reviews, and additional research about this Lump Charcoal I decided to make a purchase. On Father's Day 2024 I smoked a variety of meats ... Beef Brisket, Pork Shoulders, and Chickens. This Lump Charcoal is the BEST that I have ever used in the past 15 years. Large pieces, Slow burn, limited ash. I will be using only this Lump Charcoal in the future. Highly Recommended!

This is one of the best lump charcoals you can find. The pieces are nice and large (not chips and scraps lot you get with a lot of other brands. Some are so large that you may have to use your small axe to cut them in half if you desire or have a smaller egg or Joe. The flavor is very mild and the temp is consistent and can really run up the gauge if you need some serious heat. Definitely a go to charcoal and well worth the cost

Selfishly I don’t want to write this review because I don’t want everyone to buy all this up so that the price goes up and I can’t get it anymore. But I’m gonna be selfless and help someone out… I will absolutely never buy any other charcoal for the rest of my life. This is a Game changer. It lasts longer. It’s premium. It smells better. It’s just better better better. This is all I’ll ever buy. No more Publix crushed nasty charcoal.
