Great choice if you already have a cable crimper
Easy to use to make custom cables. All the components fit together perfectly. You'll need a crimper to attach your cable / wire to the connector pins, but if you need one of those, there are kits available on Amazon that include the connectors, connector pins, wrenches and crimper. If all you need are the connectors and pins, this works great and is priced right. I use these on both 12AWG and 10AWG size cable and both sizes of cable fit nicely into the connector pins and body.

I like these.
These are great connectors. I get used panels and the connectors can be rusty or broken. So I go through these a lot. These are easy to use and hold up well.

Build your own
Build you own cables. Repair solar panel wires. Very handy. Easy to use. Get the crimpers and you're all set. Comes with the tool (blue thing) to disconnect to two parts. They feel solid. I've made several extension cords for my panels that I lay in the driveway during power outages...run into the garage where MPPT controller and batteries are. I bought used panels without ends super cheap and put these on in a flash. Building you own solar array and don't want long cables dangling around--cut them down and put these on (remember all cables have to be the same length).

Build quality good, no snap though and cables pull out. Updated...
Update: BRV got in touch and offered a refund. Updated rating from 2 to 4. They work, no overheating or such, but there's no locking mechanism, especially for the female one. Not that you can, they always are pulled out and after 3 hours in the sun you realized zero charge, oops the cable is pulled out. Really annoying that they don't have the snap mech.

Easy install. Solid product
They fit the solar panels I purchased and installed easily. Don't forget to slide the caps on before crimping the connector!

Proper wire stripping essential!
Don't mix-n-match connectors and don't strip too much insulation when making crimp connections to the male or female metal connectors. After two years of operating my ground mount (26ea 410watt panels) running 3 strings (2ea 10panel strings and 1ea 6 panel string) I have experienced 3 times a wire meltdown, always at the mc4 connector. My strings are 170 feet 10ga wire into 2ea EG4 6000xp's. I love it, I love it, I love it. Total off grid configuration with grid as bypass when batteries low or >12000watts required by home. 10panel series strings = 300-380volts, 6 panel series string = 180-225volts, temp dependent. Very important, use same connectors everywhere on your system. Cut the connector off your panel and use all same. I like the BougeRV mc4 connectors, they work well. My problem was improper wire connection to male and female metal pins. Strip about 1/4" insulation from PV wire, DO NOT break any of the copper strands, not even one when stripping the PV wire. DO NOT strip too much insulation when making crimp connection. Bare copper wire should just barely protrude from the crimp clamps about 1/16". Use proper crimp tool. My mistake was running the bare copper wire up into to hollow part of the metal pin, fine if filled with solder, but unnecessary. Any loose strands will arc creating heat, wire failure and/or fire. This includes that broken strand you may have created when stripping the PV wire insulation. That broken wire will arc to the metal pin creating heat. Use a proper wire stripper and use ferrules on all PV combiner box connections, isolators and inverter connections. Try to run system in series as much as your inverters will allow. The higher the voltage the better. Good luck and be safe!

Photovoltaic connectors
These arrived in a timely fashion, and appeared to be good quality at a fair price compared to other ones that I have hooked up.

Good Buy
They work as advertised. They came in well packaged with all parts present. The fastening tool is a wise inclusion.
