Great value part
Key got stuck in 1996 ranger and would no longer turn one way or the other, ended up having to break old ignition lock cylinder out of the column. Ordered this and 2 days later had a working ignition switch again. For the price it is excellent, other reviews mentioned issues with the lock cylinder but the one I recieved worked exactly as it should and took less than a minute to install.

Good product but ended up returning it
Seems as good as the original. Ended up ordering this and didn’t actually need it. The return process was super easy

Didn't work out
Thus was difficult to install. Followed instructions and it would absolutely not turn when in the column. Returned - which went smooth.

Check for reversed removal pin
Props to Ben Lajoie and his comment of July 1, 2025: "Push button pin was placed wrong. Had to take it out and flip it.” Same. The new cylinder wouldn’t insert into the column as shipped. The fix is delicate but easy: slightly pry up the forked spring holding the pin, remove with tweezers, flip pin and reinstall. After that it worked fine in my 1998 Explorer. The PATS system requires the original key to be present to start the vehicle. Some users report it just needs to be on the key ring, but for my vehicle it has to be held right next to the cylinder, between the new key and the dash. This is temporary until my new cylinder can be repined to match the original transponder keys.

What I like the most is the availability and the quickness of delivery. My ignition on my truck didn't work and I put in what I needed and found this tumbler and keys and they are a good price and excellent quality.

Push button pin was placed wrong. Had to take it out and flip it. Once fixed worked perfectly in my 2005 F350
