I use these envelopes regularly for writing and mailing letters, and they work great. We use these for checks (cheques for our Canadian friends:-) and want to make sure the check isn't visible through the envelope. Even with the brightest light behind it, you can see the outline of something, but no text. That's thanks to an aggressive pattern printed inside designed to block the ability to see text. If you're mailing a personal check, I recommend wrapping it in a piece of paper folded up so nobody can see the outline of the check. They won't see the amount or details, but a check is kind of easy to identify so it could become a target for pilfering. These are a good value in the bulk package. They seem to be a medium weight paper, so they will hold up fine and not jam in the postal system. The best part of them is the adhesive strip which has a pull tape to expose it. The adhesive grips very strongly once closed, making it obvious if someone tries to tamper with it. They are a standard white envelope without a window, so they are versatile enough to use for letters or whatever fits in them.

I have purchased at least 5 boxes of these #10 envelopes with the self-sealing flap. It's a little hit or miss in the total love department. Sometimes it's got a super grippy to the very edge of each side of the flap, other times it's not as super grippy nor goes that far. As a safety precaution, I just add a little tape on each end of the flap because I'm shipping an item inside the envelope not just a letter. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the Amazon Basics brand and specifically with these #10 envelopes.

Durable, Simple no fuss security tinted envelopes for sending good old fashioned snail mail and many many other things! Perfect size for mailing letter size pages, can not see contents through envelopes from my experience and great quality!

I’m just about to finish my first 500 and about to place the order for more. Are these top quality perfect envelopes? No. But they are the best value envelopes out there. I used every single one in the box. I am using it them for direct mail and they are perfect for bulk use. The cons: You can somewhat see what’s inside but they are still fairly secure. The seal on them does not go right to the end. Every single envelope has some room on both sides of the flap that doesn’t seal down. I didn’t have any problems with this. The pros: The quick seal sticker is VERY efficient, easy, and reliable. Best value out available. I’ve tried many brands and this is the best VALUE. Not the best quality, but the best quality for dollar value. Comes in a box of 500 to save you ordering 10 boxes or so, just order 2 boxes! They pack them very efficiently too so it’s a nice compact box.
